“Badgers sett is a delightful charming little cottage right on the coast of Bude.”

It had a beautiful sea view from the back garden. It was well equipped with all the things one would need for a break away. We had a wonderful time and was overall really pleased with the cleanliness and amenities provided to give a home from home feel. We had dinner and drinks in the private enclosed garden on the picnic bench watching the beautiful sunset in the evening. They have a fire pit which was a nice touch to round off the evening toasting marshmallows. The beds were comfortable and ...

It had a beautiful sea view from the back garden. It was well equipped with all the things one would need for a break away. We had a wonderful time and was overall really pleased with the cleanliness and amenities provided to give a home from home feel. We had dinner and drinks in the private enclosed garden on the picnic bench watching the beautiful sunset in the evening. They have a fire pit which was a nice touch to round off the evening toasting marshmallows. The beds were comfortable and there was plenty of space for our family of 4 + 1 dog. Sandymouth beach is just down the bottom of the lane although I would recommend driving and parking as its a rather steep walk back up. We had a brilliant time exploring the local area with shops and pubs only a short drive away. We would definitely re-book and visit again.

“We enjoyed our stay at Badgers Sett.”

It was clean and comfortable and in a good location. We were pleased to book the accommodation last minute and at a reasonable price. One thing worth noting is that the stairs have quite narrow treads and are a shiny varnished wood, making them potentially a risk to anyone not too steady on their feet. I wouldn't have booked to stay there with my elderly mother if I had been aware of this.

“Badger sett was clean tidy and comfortable looks like a new lounge suite with recliners and music speakers fitted yeah very good, but there were issues we arrived at it's coldest day 0 degrees we couldn't get the door open the wood had swelled and it jammed finally got in and no heating it was freezing we couldn't get the heating to work there was two heating units downstairs and two upstairs no instructions how to turn them on in the welcome pamphlet .”

The neighbour next door in the farmhouse came on to try he couldn't get them to work either so he gave us an oil heater to loan which was a god send we had heat in the building downstairs upstairs there was a heater on the wall in the main bedroom that works pretty good,we turn the towel rail on in the bathroom and left it on all night because that gave off some good heat. The next day I rang the owner explaining how to turn them on he said there's a diagram upstairs in the airing cupboard and a small oil heater under the stairs We got it all sorted. By Tuesday the microwave blue up so We was with out the microwave for the rest of the week other than that we had a fantastic time we will return but not in winter just a great place to visit and tour around and thanks to the guy in the farmhouse you were very helpful.

“The cottage was lovely, situated to access lovely beaches.”

We had a great meal at the Bush Inn which we would highly recommend & Sandymouth beach and cafe was beautiful. The cottage was cosy, homely and comfortable with everything that we needed.

“Lovely cottage , beautiful views, 20 minute walk to beach.”

Beds really comfortable. Sofa needs to be replaced although it again was very comfortable, the leather was worn, and splitting . Owner left a very nice welcome pack. Would definitely stay there again .

“Had a fabulous stay at Badgers Sett.”

Lovely cottage. Well-stocked with all you need including rainy days. Dishwasher was a welcome surprise, who wants to wash up on holiday! Super comfy beds. Sea views from both bedroom windows. Beams & exposed slate walls. Lovely patio garden secured so dog could mooch. Allocated parking. Location absolutely perfect. Gorgeous beaches, including 1 that you can walk to. 4 miles from Bude. Plenty to do. Will definitely go back. Highly recommended.

Kilkhampton is an historic Cornish village, 4 miles from the popular Victorian seaside resort of Bude, one of Cornwall’s premier holiday locations. With its old church, village shops and atmospheric village pubs, Kilkhampton is a lovely place to relax after a hard day exploring the stunning beaches and spectacular coastal scenery for which the area is famous. Bude’s beaches attract surfers from all over the country and when conditions are right you’d be hard pushed to find better surf. When the tide is out, miles of golden sand and hundreds of rock pools keep visitors occupied for hours. The South West Coast Path, and many other rights-of-way winding over the clifftops and through lush green fields looking out over the sea, make this area a haven for walkers and lovers of the open countryside. For those who prefer staying closer to home, a good shopping centre and a selection of pubs, two clubs and restaurants are on offer. Bude canal, a registered nature reserve, passes through the town, and rowing a boat along its calm waters or walking the towpath among the beautiful (and friendly) water fowl that live among the reeds is a great way to spend an hour or two. Within the area there are also 2 golf courses, an indoor swimming pool, bowling alley at the leisure centre. A perfect location for all that North Cornwall has to offer.
