Ladye Park
Description
Ladye Park is an elegant country residence in Liskeard, Cornwall, steeped in medieval history and set within five acres of private, landscaped grounds.
Once a revered site of Christian pilgrimage known as “Our Lady at The Park,” this former monastery housed a historic shrine dedicated to Our Ladye of the Park.
Today, it retains a sense of spiritual charm, with its own Fountain of Youth, long considered a place of reflection and renewal by pilgrims.
Now transformed into a glorious country home, Ladye Park seamlessly blends heritage with modern comfort, making it an ideal retreat for large families or groups of friends seeking a truly distinctive getaway.
The welcoming entrance hall leads into a spacious living room, where a Smart TV and open fireplace create a warm and inviting atmosphere for evenings together.
The property features two dining areas: a formal dining room perfect for celebratory meals, and a relaxed breakfast-style space for casual gatherings.
Both connect to a bespoke kitchen, fully equipped with a large electric AGA, electric oven and hob, American-style fridge/freezer, and all essential appliances.
A separate utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer adds convenience, while a ground-floor cloakroom completes the layout.
Across the first and second floors, seven thoughtfully arranged bedrooms offer comfort and privacy.
Two doubles include en-suite facilities, while the remaining rooms comprise another double, a single, two second-floor singles, and a spacious family room with its own TV.
Additional amenities include a family bathroom with bath and shower over, a second shower room, and a cloakroom.
Outside, the secure and beautifully maintained grounds invite guests to relax and explore.
Enjoy alfresco dining at the picnic bench, fire up the barbecue, or take a peaceful stroll through the estate, perhaps pausing at the historic fountain to reflect on the property’s rich legacy.
Nearby, Liskeard offers cultural and historical attractions such as Stuart House Museum and St Martin’s Church, along with scenic rides on the Looe Valley Line railway.
In Looe, visitors can explore the Old Guildhall Museum & Gaol, take a boat trip to Looe Island Nature Reserve, or enjoy the sandy shores of East Looe Beach.
Plymouth adds further adventure with highlights like the National Marine Aquarium, panoramic views from Smeaton’s Tower, and immersive exhibitions at The Box.
With its extraordinary history, elegant interiors, and enchanting surroundings, Ladye Park promises a truly memorable holiday experience where heritage and immersive living meet.

A nice property.
BUT... the wetland area in the garden was not a swimmable lake, the Aga (as advertised) had obviously not been used for months and was not usable so we only had 1 oven and 1 plug in electric hotplates, one of which would cool off if the other was turned off. I spoke to someone about this on the Sunday evening and we never heard back. The other major issues were - NO CURTAINS in many bedrooms so early morning sun can wake. The main shower would jam on, my wife got locked in the ensuite bathroom as the lock was broken and had to be rescued by passing a nail clipper under the door to improvise a screwdriver so she could unscrew the lock. The electrics/lights in the lounge were dodgy. A beautiful property but many issues.
Our stay had some positives, but unfortunately several issues significantly affected the overall experience.
Communication prior to arrival was poor. The contact number provided led to a generic Visit Cornwall line, where we spent 40 minutes on hold without getting through to anyone. On arrival, we were unable to access the property, as there was a locked gate and no code had been provided. After a six‑hour journey, this was particularly frustrating. Thankfully, a neighbour was able to contact the owner/manager and obtain the code — without this, we would not have been able to enter the property. Despite this happening, we did not receive any word or apology from anyone. The house and grounds themselves are pleasant, but the cleanliness fell below expectations. There was a noticeable amount of dust and cobwebs throughout, which triggered allergies for several members of our group. Basic provisions were also lacking — only one toilet roll per bathroom was provided, which is insufficient for a group of 12 staying for four days. While the gardens are attractive, the listing is misleading in suggesting five acres of accessible land. The patio and BBQ area also had limited usability due to poor upkeep and the absence of outdoor lighting, making it impractical to use after dark. There were also a number of maintenance and organisational issues. Some towels were missing, and the second‑floor shower would not turn off properly, leaving us with only three functioning bathrooms between 12 people. Additionally, a member of our group became stuck in one of the en‑suite bathrooms for around 30 minutes due to a broken lock, which was both inconvenient and concerning. The house information folder (including WiFi details) was not clearly placed — we only found it after searching through multiple drawers. Overall, while the property has potential and is in a nice setting, the current level of management and maintenance does not match expectations.
