Pickney House

We recently stayed at Pickney House with friends and their pet, and had a wonderful experience.

On arrival, we were delighted to find freshly baked scones with clotted cream, as well as a 4-pint bottle of milk waiting for us in the fridge. Such a lovely and thoughtful welcome! The house itself is beautifully presented and exceptionally well equipped. I don’t think I have ever stayed somewhere with such a well-stocked kitchen there was an impressive selection of dishes, plates, utensils and everything else you could possibly need. From beach towels to washing-up liquid and fabric softener, and even a full cupboard of different board games, everything had been thoughtfully provided for guests to use. It is clear that a lot of care and thought has gone into making Pickney House feel like a comfortable home away from home. A truly well-thought-out and welcoming place to stay. I highly recommend Pickney House!

A beautiful place to stay.

Thé cottage is so well equipped, clean, comfortable and spacious. We appreciated all the little extras, thank you!

The condition of the property was what I can only describe as immaculate and thats not doing it justice it was spotlessly clean organised and had everything you could need for a stay the owner was thoughtful quick to reply to any messages I can wholeheartedly recommend this property

Four of us have just spent 3 nights in Pickney House near Polperro and were very impressed with the high standard of the accommodation.

Everything was clean, comfortable and extremely well equipped. We loved the scones with cream and jam plus other goodies in the courtesy pack. Made us feel very welcome after a long journey. Also the toiletries in the bathroom and blankets to cuddle up in, in the living room all gave the impression of very careful thought and consideration by the owner. One little tip, we discovered that if you walk down the steep hill to Polperro, there is a taxi which will bring you back again! Gayle Careless

All members of the family were very impressed with the house.

We frequently book accomodation for our staycations and this has to be the best so far. The owner has thought of every little detail for all guests including the family dog.

The owner was fully engaged from an early arrival welcome SMS message and response to queries to the immaculate presentation of the cottage.

Especially touching was the welcome of pets seen in the treats and comforts provided for them. The beautiful wash gels and creams and welcome pack were really good quality and hugely enjoyed. The house is considerably bigger than we normally book for the 2 of us. We got a lovely discount week so went for it. We will I think be keeping an eye on it when we book our twice yearly coastal holidays. It would be great to return. Syra and Angus

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and much appreciated the box of Cornish goodies left by the owner.

We didn't have brilliant weather (nothing to do with Sykes or the owner!) so we couldn't try out the garden furniture but when we discovered Netflix on the TV our evenings were spent quite happily with "The Thursday Murder Club" and "Wednesday".

Well what a treat we had staying at Pickney House !

! There were 8 of us - all family, and plenty of room for everyone. The accommodation is first class with everything thought of. The games and buckets with crab lines really caters for young children. There’s even beach towels, a beach wind breaker and cool box for sunny days. The welcome pack for both adults and dog was such a lovely touch. A short walk down the hill takes you into beautiful Polperro. A great base to explore Cornwall. 100% would recommend. Thank you for letting us book this gem.

From the first moment till the last Pickney house was absolutely wonderful.

It was so clean and welcoming. There was a basket on the table with scones, jam and cream. There was also biscuits and tea bags. To be honest we couldn't find any thing wrong with it. Thank you for a five star stay.

Immaculate!

Pickney House is a fantastic place to stay with every comfort and desire possible. From the moment you park on the drive, walk through the front door into what can only be described as a place which is certainly “home from home” and also including a glorious enclosed rear garden with comfortable garden furniture. Beau, our dog, had a wonderful holiday with every provision possible for her to enjoy this beautiful home. Thank you! Definitely deserves 5 stars!

We have had a lovely time staying at Pickney House.

On arrival, it was exceptionally clean and very welcoming for us and our dog. There are lovely little touches to make everyone feel comfortable. It felt like everything had been thought of and prepared for, from all the different utensils in the kitchen to fans provided in case of the originally expected heat. The location means lots of great places are just a short drive away. The back garden is beautiful and comfortable. We loved having all the space. It was a fantastic stay and we would 100% recommend Pickney House.

A lovely place to stay for a holiday.

Very well cared for property with a great garden and outdoor space to enjoy. Some lovely touches from the owners including a welcome hamper and treats for the dog with lots of throws to keep them comfortable. I would recommend Pickney House to stay especially if you were looking for a quiet location.

Siobhan the owner has thought of everything that you may need for a stay. Was very comfortable and very clean. Loved the welcome hamper with scones and tea bags and also the toiltery bags were a nice touch. Would highly recommend !!

Fantastic Accommodation True Home from Home,everything you could think of was provided,it was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished Welcome Basket for us and Treats for our Labradore Max including Throws for Lounge ect.

100% Would Recommend and would definitely look to book Pickney House again if we return to looe.

The property is ideally situated and a beautiful home from home. Both couples agree that in all our years of renting holiday accommodation all over the British Isles and abroad we have never experienced such a well equipped property. The owners have thought of everything for a perfect stay which was comfortable in every way from comfy beds to everything one would need in the kitchen and for BBQ's. The welcome pack was super and also left lovely complimentary toiletries. Cannot rate this property highly enough. And would never hesitate to book it again. Have already recommended to friends and family.

a wellmaintained holiday home only one thing to complain about was the mattresses were very uncomfortable too soft and duvets were winter ones much too thick

This house is absolutely perfect.

my family of 5 adults and 1 dog , had a most wonderful week. There was plenty of equipment in the kitchen, the garden had lovely furniture and we spent most afternoons outside playing board games . In 27 years of renting holiday properties across the UK, this was one of the best. thank you

We had a lovely stay at Pickney House in April.

as a party of 6. The house has everything you could want from the beautiful furnishings, comfortable beds and a fully equipped kitchen. Nothing has been left out and everything has been thought off. Even the welcome basket was gorgeous. We could see why this property has five star reviews. There are walks close by to Polperro and Talland bay, however these are very steep in places if anyone has mobilty issues. It was a great base for exploring in the day and enjoying the house and garden in the evening.

We had the best time at Pickney house!

It’s so well kitted out with everything you might possibly need! The house is so comfortable too, like a home away from home - we all slept amazingly even with a baby and a 3 year old! We had wonderful trips out (even with being out of season) to Looe, Polperro and Talland Bay. Further afield we visited Lost Gardens of Heligan, and a trip to the Aquarium in Plymouth! 10/10 we look forward to coming back to Pickney House in the future!

One of the best holiday houses we have rented.

Everything was top quality and very comfortable sofas and beds. Location is perfect, walking distance to a lovely cove and to Polperro although steep hill back which we didn’t mind.

The owner has thought of everything to make your stay perfect! All of the extras provided - thank you - and the additional of household items such as an abundance of dishwasher tablets, washing machine liquid and lovely quality toiletries, hand soap & hand creams! The owner has done an excellent job of renovating the property. The property was one of the nicest homes we have ever stayed in and I hope that we will return one day! Thank you very much.

Magnificent cottage.

Have stayed in many cottages and this is by far the best. Immaculate - clean and excellent attention to detail. Well equipped with everything you could possibly need. We really felt comfortable and had a great holiday - on the odd wet day it was lovely to go back to the comfort of the cottage.

The attention to detail and comfort was outstanding. The house and Garden were so well equipped everything you could possibly need to make your stay perfect. I messaged John asking if I needed to bring an iron and hairdryer. He messaged back saying there is an iron (excellent laundry facilities) And 4 hairdryers one in each room. So Great. They are dog friendly at Pickney house and my pup was left a basket full of comforting treats and accessories to make the stay wonderful. Thank you Pickney house you couldn't of done anything better. Great location , sea views from both double bedrooms! Equipped to a very high standard- the owners have thought of everything ( and more !) Just back from a lovely stay at Pickney House.

Such a well equipped property, clean and very very homely. Everything you could want and more! 5 stars. Lovely secure garden, great for our dog, which is a sun trap. Ideally located for the beautiful coastal paths to Looe and Polperro. Siobhan was a great host, lovely luxury touches and welcome pack. Thank you again Pickney House

A beautifully appointed house.

Attention to detail was excellent throughout . There are walks along the coastline straight from the house so a perfect spot for exploring the local area. A cream tea was left for our arrival. Thank you

A beautiful warm and comfortable home perfect for our group of seven The house was dressed for Christmas throughout and looked magical!

The kitchen had everything you need (and more) to cook for the holidays. The host is incredibly thoughtful and a great communicator. We would highly recommend Pickney House and hope to stay again.

Everything was 5* we had Everything we needed and the whole family enjoyed their stay nothing to complain about we even had a taxi service living next door.

From the property specifications, and other people's reviews we expected Pickney House to be of a high standard, and we were not disappointed!

It has absolutely everything one could ask for in holiday accommodation, plus much more besides, it is all of a good quality and very clean. The 'welcome pack' of Cornish cream tea and local bread was just the icing on the cake! We were blessed with good weather, enjoyed the local area, and we took advantage of the buses to get around. A holiday home I would recommend to anyone.

Pinckney House is outstanding!

Attention has been paid to every detail in the design, comfort and equipment provided. Absolutely everything you could need is there for your total convenience and it’s top quality too! Beds are super comfortable. Linens are sumptuous. Garden furniture is generous and comfortable. There is total privacy and the spectacular planting makes for a really relaxing outdoor space. We were delighted and would thoroughly recommend this property.

We had a very enjoyable stay at Pickney House.

The entire house had recently been fully renovated and we were extremely impressed by the decor, furnishings and facilities. We arrived to find fresh scones, bread, jam, cream, biscuits and tea on the dining table which was a really lovely welcome. Each of the four bedrooms are beautifully furnished and complimentary toiletries were supplied. The kitchen is immaculate, spacious and very well equipped. The weather prevented our use of the garden/bbq but on a sunnier week that would be the perfect place to relax in the evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our break and would have no hesitation in recommending Pickney House to other families seeking a high quality holiday home close to Polperro and Looe.

Excellent very enjoyable weekend family stay The property was maintained to a very high standard inside & out .

Extremely comfortable , lovely furnishings, electrical and ornamental definitely deserves a five star .

Everything needed was there like beach towels and coals for the BBQ.

Great location just round the corner from Polperro which is lovely. Looe was only a ten minute drive. The property was extremely well equipped (the best we have ever experienced). Very peaceful location and lovely outdoor area to sit and relax. Private parking for at least 2 cars comfortably.
