Nightingale Cottage

Nightingale Cottage was a lovely base for our holiday and in such beautiful, well cared for surroundings.

The setting is very peaceful. It is well equipped and very comfortable. A good location for lots of days out. The cream tea welcome was lovely.

Very clean and well equipped. Super cosy and very warm. The scones were a very welcome treat too. Quite central for all directions. Would definitely recommend

Needs refreshing and bringing up to date a little.

This was a third time stopping here in four years, we love the location and the country look and style of the cottage, but it is time this place needs a refresh. The shower head was in need of a deep clean, the bedroom floor made such a noise it woke each other up when one of us was going to the bathroom, the log burner needs to be downstairs and not in the bedroom and the TV needs to be a smart TV because it never worked for more than two minutes before it froze due to the Freesat digital-box not getting a signal (so dated). We had to spend our nights watching old DVDs on the old DVD player.

Gorgeous little cottage , very comfortable everything you could need for an enjoyable stay , very well equipped, big super comfy bed ,lovely hot shower , tastefully decorated.

Great location as most things 20 min or less drive away Talland Bay beach was lovely and hidden gem Golitha falls beatiful stream and woodlands , lots of great dvds for relaxing after long day exploring!! Gated patio so dog couldn’t get out , we will be back , locals friendly and super helpful as we had flat tyre !

Both north and south coast within reach, will definitely return.

Lovely little cottage with everything you could need lots of information about the local area only drawback for us no amenities within walking distance but lovely and quiet very peaceful and relaxing

Fantastic property in a great location for visiting the best seaside towns.

We were here for 2 weeks and thoroughly enjoyed it.

Nice setting, happy with most things.

Didn't particularly like the creaky floorboards upstairs.

We had a wonderful time, and the cottage was everything we could have hoped for - very comfortable, well-equipped, quiet and in a good situation for exploring the area.

We were also blessed by stunning weather! Would definitely recommend the cottage to others! One small warning for other dog owners: I was confused by the offer of a basket with dog biscuits, bowl and towels, as I thought this was a dog basket rather than a container for the biscuits etc - but fortunately brought her basket with us just in case.

Absolutely beautiful cottage and would happily return.

It was booked as a birthday treat for my other half and we were not disappointed at all. It was everything we wanted and a welcome escape. The owner even left us a cream tea to enjoy whilst we were there. The only downside was we couldn’t get the bottom oven to work whilst we were there but we managed to use the top oven anyway so not really a problem. Would definitely recommend to anyone!

Well equipped, it has everything you need. To follow on from a previous reviewer, yes smart TV function would be useful, the internet connection is very good.

Lovely host, understanding and accommodating

Our second consecutive stay over the last two years and it was as good as the first.

Immaculate, clean and very comfy place to relax for a quiet week away. Perfectly situated to explore all of Cornwall and neighbouring Plymouth. Being extremely picky, the TV could do with an upgrade to a Smart TV where guests, if they wish could sign in to their own TV platforms such as Netflix, Disney, Prime etc. and have a wider choice than the FreeSat channels. This is just my opion and would by no means stop me visiting a third time next year. My wife and I love stopping here at Nightingale Cottage.

3rd year in this cottage , it’s in a lovely location , Karen the owner left us a lovely cream tea and goes to great lengths to make sure the cottage is well maintained and has everything you might need .

The property needed a bit more cleaning.

Cobwebs/ hand rail bathroom door were unclean.. property owner arsked for comments at the end of stay wich we did. But wasn’t happy with our comment.. ie. Flys coming in every time frunt door open.. was told it’s the country. And to be expected.. yes it was nice of owner to leave scones and cream. But nice if we could have milk to go with. Glasses in bathroom. None. Was told dangerous. U can use plastic???. Cottage photos need updating to the ones on web site..

The property was beautiful, clean and welcoming, the property owner had left cream teas for us on arrival which were delicious.

Everything was in the cottage that you could want for self catering. The owner delivered fresh bedding and towels for our second week it was lovely to meet her in person, very personable and friendly. The location of the cottage was great , we went site seeing every day with so many beautiful places to visit and most not too far away. The area where the cottage is situated is really peaceful apart from the birds which is always lovely to hear, with no light pollution and clear sky's at night we slept really well ever night. Would thoroughly recommend

We had a lovely week at this sweet little cottage, although small it had everything we needed.

The courtyard garden was a real sun trap & very pretty, it was also very private, & the communal areas were very well maintained. A perfect place to come back to after a busy day.

Very well equips and clean. The cottage is in a great location for exploring different parts of Cornwall. We would happily stay at Nightingale again. The only thing we did find was still bring March, during our stay, at times it was a little on the cool side in the cottage.

We had such a beautiful time in Cornwall and Nightingale Cottage was a big part of that!

So comfortable, welcoming and incredibly well equipped. A very warm welcome when we arrived, directions were spot on too, definitely don’t follow sat nav. Loved the decoration, was just perfect. We ate at the cottage every evening and didn’t want for anything in the kitchen. My only suggestion would be some more ideas on restaurants/take away in the local area, we did want a take away one evening but didn’t know where was best. The folder left in the cottage had lots of great information about walks and places to visit too. Thank you so much!!

What a find this little gem is.

There is nothing that has not been thought of. Immaculate - if you are a 'neat-freak' then this is one place you will be able to relax in, it is cleaned to a very high standard. A comfortable 'firm' mattress, and nice bedding & towels that smell delightful. Quality furnishings and the added bonus of a washing machine and dishwasher - detergents included. Lashings of hot water and great rain-head shower. Located in an ideal spot - 20 mins to a beach by car. This is a quiet spot and is surrounded by the beautiful Cornish countryside. Highly recommend you give this lil gem a try.

It was delightful to return to this cottage at a different time of the year.

It is very comfortable, with everything you could possibly need, to have a truly relaxing holiday. Its located in a lovely part of part of Cornwall, with some great walks for me and my dog. Thank you

Nightingale Cottage was such a lovely place to stay for our holiday in Cornwall.

Beautifully appointed and comfortable, well equipped and quiet. Situated in an ideal place to reach all the destinations we wanted to visit on our trip including the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Tintagal and Looe.

Second year in this cottage it’s well Maintained and in a lovely rural location .

Lovely comfy bed and shower . Hope to return for a third year .

Wonderfully peaceful stay at Nightingale Cottage.

Perfect base for trips into Looe, Fowey and Mevagissey. Lovely walk for our 9 month old Cocker Spaniel at Golitha Falls. The Cottage was comfortable and cosy. The welcome pack was a lovely bonus, with biscuits for the dog too as well as a bowl and towel provided. Would definitely use again.

Lovely little hamper for us and our dog too. But there was no toilet roll or hand towel in the bathroom when we arrived.

Had a wonderful time. Lovely welcome pack of local produce. Very minor problem was several heating systems and the underfloor heating never seemed to activate, this was not a major problem as we were very comfortable. All in all a wonderful cottage and a fabulous stay.

This little cottage is a delightful find - so cosy and relaxing with everything you could possibly need.

Its close to some superb Cornish holiday spots e.g. : Looe, Fowey, Lost Gardens of Heligan, Eden Project etc. But we also found some cracking dog walks in forest and on the coast. My dog and I enjoyed it so much we have booked another week later in the year.

The cottage was very well equipped and the facilities were first class.

The bed was extremely comfortable , The furnishings and fixtures were very well selected, the only missing item as far as I could find was the absence of a plate draining rack on the kitchen sink, which was only a minor drawback

We enjoyed our stay at Nightingale cottage, great location, great level of comfort, all very clean tidy and organised, would recommend if staying in this area of Cornwall.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, lovely clean cottage & very well equipped.

Owners were extremely helpful. Cottage is perfectly located for exploring the whole of Cornwall which we did. Located in an extremely peaceful setting with a lovely secure Garden perfect for our little pooch. We will definitely return when we next visit Cornwall.

Great location, excellent cottage well equipped, quiet, plenty of space for two plus dog, king bed and good size en-suite, excellent shower.

Well laid out, everything we needed, lovely location, nice outside space with table and chairs, lots of games, books and dvds if needed. Central for going to the south coast or north, and the various attractions. Everything worked without a problem, booking, communication, arrival with key box on the door, contact point (although didn’t need). Had a great time, would return again. Only thing I’d add to change would be some wedges under the coffee table to stop rolling about, as on wheels, but a small thing.

The property was in a beautiful location, was very clean with everything thing you needed and the welcome basket was a real treat.

A stable door might be beneficial to let more light in, or a clear door panel. Otherwise a lovely place.

Beautiful location and cottage extremely well equipped and comfortable. We were amazed with the lovely welcome basket of human goodies and the goodies also for our dog

Would like to say how much we really enjoyed our stay, the the cottage was superb with a delightful welcoming basket.

One tiny, tiny suggestion for improvement would be tissues and hand soap, and one other minor point, the temp of hot water was scolding hot.

Lovely cottage and so nice to receive a welcome pack for us and also the dog.

Absolutely wonderful stay, everything we needed and more.
