We had a lovely time staying at MeadowLea, the accommodation was clean, a well-loved home with delightfully comfortable beds and a well-equipped kitchen for self-catering.

A great location for exploring both the north and south coast. We especially enjoyed the peaceful setting of the house, you won't be disappointed staying at this Cornish retreat.

What a lovely home for a family holiday!

Meadow Lea was immaculate and clean when we arrived. It is equipped with high end appliances and everything you could need, a home away from home. Ian was a very attentive and answered any queries promptly, we felt very well taken care of. We would highly recommend Meadow Lea and thank Ian and his family for sharing his home with us.

We love it. The house is very spacious and very idyllic as well as being very private and not overlooked by any other properties. It’s is also very well situated. Cannot rate it highly enough

A wonderful cottage, very well equipped, comfortable and a great location for exploring all of Cornwall.

We visited with our dog and loved the enclosed garden and adjoining fields. There is easy access on foot to Bodmin moor too. We visit Cornwall every year and this is the best cottage to date. The quality of furniture and appliances made the stay very comfortable. Will definitely visit again.

Private garden and driveway and every facility imaginable. Clearly a well loved second family home not a well worn rental. After 15 years of renting holiday homes, this is one of a few we intend to return to. And a week of sun and blue sky was a welcome bonus.

We've stayed at Meadowlea a few times now and as usual an excellent experience.

Definitely the best accommodation we've ever stayed at over the years (in the UK) and we've been to quite a few. The owners are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble. Everything permitted we will be back again next year.

Meadowlea is in a beautiful quiet position, no noise from road and a beautiful home, with four lovely bedrooms, one en-suite all furnished beautifully.

The downstairs is furnished to the high standards of upstairs with nothing you can’t ask for or find. If you want an enjoyable relaxing holiday then Meadow Lea is the perfect place. Swings outside with two lots of outdoor furniture and a BBQ.

This is not just a holiday let, it's a real home!

You couldn't want for anything else. Lovely comfy beds, lovely showers, enough space for all of us to spread out. Lovely big dining table to gather around and chat about our day or plan the next! We planned to eat out a couple of evenings but didn't bother as we were able to cook as the house has a great range of pots/pans/utensils/equip to allow us to cook our own meals then spend relaxing evenings together (and play table tennis). We loved how cosy the house and garden felt and although based in the village we felt completely private. We loved all the information left by the owners which is super useful when you are staying in someone else's home. All instructions were clear for the house and all the holiday info for the area was really useful. Thank you for making our holiday so enjoyable. Susan, Arthur and family

Amazing home and loved our stay.

Plenty of space, the dog loved the garden! Well equipped house, beautifully kept and the garden was perfect for early morning coffee listening to the birds and sheep. Excellent location with lots of peaceful places around. Excellent recommendations by the hosts and great communication! We will 100% be back!

We had a fabulous late February break at Meadow Lea and found it a real home from home, with everything you could wish for and so exceptionally clean and comfortable.

The cottage is beautiful and set in a gorgeous wrap-around garden (very much appreciated by our dog!), with a woodland path with stream leading to the moor just through the gate. The skies at night were spectacular too and we were there for the planetary procession which was quite a treat! We found the location perfect, with moorland walks aplenty and our favourite little bays such as Lantic and Lantivet just a short drive away. Slightly further afield we loved Glendurgan Garden and the beach at Carne. And Cotehele with its mill and walks along the Tamar is close by too. The owners of Meadow Lea were incredibly helpful and friendly - we’ll definitely be back! Thank you for the use of your beautiful Cornish cottage!

We had a fantastic Christmas stay at Meadowlea.

The cottage is spacious, spotless, incredibly comfortabe and I don't think I have ever stayed in a place that is better equipped. The owners were equally brilliant - even ringing before Christmas to check if we had managed to get a turkey and sufficient veggies for our Christmas meal. A real sense of care that was absolutely heartwarming. Cannot recommend highly enough.

We had a lovely time on holiday at meadow Lea, we couldn’t fault it.

Extremely clean and lots of nice touches making the week easy. All kitchen utensils you could want were there and little things such as having some milk in the fridge when we arrived were appreciated. The garden was lovely our dog loved running around. We had a fabulous week at Meadowlea.

The cottage has been thoughtfully extended, genuinely providing everything you need for a relaxing stay. no need to over pack! It's an incredibly convenient location for traveling Cornwall. Off the beaten path and private, when the drive gate was closed, our GSD had the time of his life lapping the garden! We also had our one year old in tow, so were over the moon to see so many safety considerations already applied, which helped us to relax a little more (as much as you can with a toddler!!) Ian & Jennifer made us incredibly welcome, before, during and after the stay. Ian has compiled some excellent literature on the house and activities across Cornwall. It is lovely to have some history on the cottage too. The property is immaculate and shows the love and care taken in its maintenance. We can't wait to visit this very special place again in the near future. Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage Ian & Jennifer :)

Its pretty faultless, lovely house and grounds .Everything you could want. Friendly owners. Nothing is too much trouble.

This property was fabulous, spacious, clean, comfy and undoubtedly the most well equipped property I've stayed in!

Literally had everything! The house was in a quiet location with gorgeous local walks, not far from the nearest town either.

Overall a lovely stay, the only let down was the dirty cutlery and bowls etc.

that hadn't been cleaned properly, however this is likely to be the previous guests rather than the cleaners fault.

This was our 2nd amazingly enjoyable stay at 'Meadow Lea' and we hope to have many more.

Many thanks to Ian and Jennifer for letting us stay at their beautiful house. This time we also managed to locate the bus stop and have a look around Pensilva which is also lovely!

MeadowLea was just what we needed.

We brought our friend with us who had never experienced Cornwall so it made it all the more memorable. Although we did have a little trouble finding it at first (do not rely on the what3words on the website, and I came from a different direction so was a little confused from the given instructions), some locals helped us in the end, and it gave us time to see the wonderfull village. The owners kept in contact with us during our stay and were very helpful. In all the stays we have had through Sykes I can definitely say that meadowlea was the most organised. Everything that you could think of was to hand. My son bought some sushi from the shop and was upset he had forgotten his chopsticks...meadowlea had two sets...he was over the moon! So 5 stars from him too. The house was so clean too, and the gardens were beautiful. It was a wonderful time to come as everything was in flower and the grass and trees were so GREEN. We also loved the little history of the place and the photos on the wall, it really did make it feel so relaxing. I would like to thank Ian and Jennifer for sharing their wonderful home and hope to stay again in the future.

This property has to be one of the best we’ve ever stayed in.

This is a second family home and as such is extremely well maintained and looked after. Very clean and everything you could possibly need on a holiday is provided. The surroundings are fantastic, if you want a peaceful, relaxing holiday this is it, from the abundance of different birds visiting daily, the sheep passing by in the lane at the bottom of the house and the resident squirrel, you could sit at the sitting room window all day. Thank you to our hosts Ian and Jennifer, who were extremely approachable and attentive and made us feel very welcome in their home, even though they weren’t there. We will definitely be back!!!!!

The four of us had a much needed holiday and rest we loved the cottage, the facilities were superb and cleanliness first class, the owners were so helpful and kind, our dog Dexley loved the garden much bigger than he was used to he was like a lamb just let out into the field for the first time it was great to watch him explore knowing he was safe, we would love to come back again in the future and would definitely recommend.

The cottage was well maintained to a high standard with nice gardens and parking space.

It was well equiped with everything you could need on a holiday. It's a good location for travelling to different areas of both coastlines most places within 50 to 60 min drive.

The place doesn’t disappoint. Same level of cleanliness and comfort as last time. The garden is amazing - kids and dog love it. This time we also had access to board games and a new coffee machine. Everything about the cottage and it’s location is perfect for a relaxing holiday.

Just spent a week at meadow Lea.

We had a lovely week. We were lucky with the weather. The cottage was cleaned to high standard on arrival. Very spacious. The garden is beautiful and very private.The cottage has 2 shower rooms and 1 bathroom All the bedrooms are very nice. Plenty of pillows. Comfy beds. We loved the ensuite shower. The kitchen has everything u need.we did do a lot of cooking. We think the other sitting room would be great with a pool table in there..we didn't use it as it was . We took our dog and it was great to know once gate was closed he could roam the garden. The only problem we found and it isn't the owners fault but I think skyes should show a picture of the steps in the garden where you park your car. We had 2 people with walking disabilities and were surprised to see all the steps as you drive through the gates to park your car. It was hard carrying all the luggage up the steps. These steps were not shown on skyes. We all loved the cottage and would definitely recommend. Also would be great if you have children . Theres table tennis.swings and games for the children to enjoy The owners kept in touch before ,during and after our stay. Thankyou very much Ian and Jennifer

Excellent holiday property with almost everything you could want.

Our group of 7 were able to eat inside and outside comfortably during our stay. Plenty of room for food and drink in the fridges and freezers. Very clean

We loved 'Meadow Lea', would definitely consider returning and would readily recommend it to others.

We thought it was light. spacious, modern, well equipped , lovely gardens, beautifully appointed, very comfortable and quiet. 1 or 2 suggestions to make it even better would include more tv's, more extensive instructions for the ultra modern cooker and some fans, as the bedrooms became quite hot during the heatwave which occurred whilst we were there.

We had an amazing stay at Meadow Lea.

Loved the fact that the house has its own character, while kitchen, bathrooms etc. are really modern. It’s a nicely secluded house and safe at the same time. Once the gate was closed kids and our dog could play around without us having to worry about them. The house had everything we needed. Would really like to come back again.

An outstanding property, in a superb and very tranquil location.

The whole family agreed, it is without doubt the best holiday home we have stayed in. The feel and ambience of the place makes staying at Meadowlea like living in a friend’s house rather than renting a property from a stranger. It is incredibly well furnished and provisioned throughout. We count ourselves very lucky to have found Meadowlea.

A beautiful and spacious cottage in idyllic surroundings.

The house is a well presented mixture of old and new. It’s easy to see the remnants of the original building but the modern extensions have been done to a high standard whilst maintaining the countryside feel. Well stocked kitchen and all of the utilities that you could ever need. We thoroughly enjoyed our week in this amazing house and location.

Beautiful cottage, which is a lovely mix of old world charm, with flagstone floors and ancient beams, but with all the mod cons of a much newer property.

Huge garden, set in beautiful countryside, on the edge of a quiet village, which means it’s wonderfully quiet. A 40 minute drive will get you to the north Cornish coast, as well as lots of seaside towns and villages along the south coast. Loved the area and all eight of us, from 5 - 65 years had a great time.

O ur second visit to this property and third trip booked already.

We had an amazing week staying at Meadowlea, there was everything we needed at the cottage.

Ian the owner telephoned us a couple of days into our stay to check that we were all ok, which was a lovely gesture. The gardens were fantastic for the children to play in and there was plenty of outdoor seating so we spent a lot of our evenings outdoors star gazing. There was more than enough room for the two families and the extra freezer was particularly handy in the really hot weather. Would definitely recommend staying at Meadowlea and we will return in the future.

Well located not only for the moors but also both the south and north coastline of Cornwall. In addition the owner made every effort to ensure that our stay was an enjoyable one with suggestions as to walks, pubs, beaches etc.

The house was warm and very clean. The extra freezer was useful and the table tennis was used. The owners were very helpful and friendly. The property description includes a note about the garden and this should be considered for toddlers and small children. We would certainly recommend the property and like to return for another stay.

The cottage is incredibly well equipped and so clean; which was a reassurance with the pandemic. We felt very safe and looked after with the detailed information from the owners on the cleaning regime. The cottage is in a peaceful location on the edge of the village and moor and it was a joy to look out and see the moorland sheep and lambs. The garden is very well maintained and it was so relaxing sitting in the evening sun after days out walking on the moor and exploring the north coast beaches. The weather was warm and sunny in the days but still cool enough at night to light the log burner and enjoy time watching the flames. All the rooms are spacious and well-furnished and the two fridges was a definite bonus. The cottage is definitely a home-from-home and has everything you will ever need. Our thanks for to the owners and we can’t wait for our third visit!

Meadow Lea cottage was really a home from home, the owners had taken great care to ensure that you had everything you needed and the added bonus was the garden swings for children.

The area was beautiful and peaceful

From start to finish of our holiday there is nothing to fault.

Although we didn't meet the owners they were perfect "hosts "via messages and emails. The cottage is in an excellent location and very peaceful. Perfect kitchen for those that like to cook, every gadget you could want. Two decent size fridges AND a chest freezer. If you had to batten down the hatches for a week there is plenty of space. Everything very comfortable. The hosts have certainly pretty much thought of everything. Are we going again, you bet, already booked for 2021, not going to let covid-19 interfere with that.

The surrounding area is beautiful and the Moors were perfect for walking. I highly recommend this cottage for families that want a comfortable, clean place to stay and the extra touches like the piano room add to the experience. I hope to go back and stay again.

Spacious and clean with all the required amenities.

Beautiful setting with plenty of outside space, the children loved the gardens, especially the swings. The garden is so private, with sun all day, it took a lot to tear ourselves away and go explore the area! Lovely beaches within 30 min drive. Lots to do locally with beautiful walks on the doorstep! Would highly recommend the property and I’m sure we will look to go back next year!

Meadowlea is a fantastic holiday home, perfect for families.

The house has everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break, a real home from home. Beautifully decorated and cosy, with lots of space to relax and enjoy the peaceful location. The garden is wonderful for children and the walk directly onto the moor and up to farm shop and cafe for a lovely breakfast is perfect. We have just returned from a short break at Meadow Lea and what a lovely cottage .

We found the cottage to have a very homely feel and is very well equiped . We didnt use the outside space as the weather was awful but whenever we went out it was lovely to come back to a warm snug cottage. It was easy to find and right where we wanted to be as attending a wedding nearby .I can imaging its lovely in the summer and wouldnt be suprised if we come back . The owners called to make sure we were happy and to see if there was anything they could do to improve our stay , nice touch.

This beautiful cottage was absolutely wonderful.

From the minute we arrived it felt like home. It was absolutely immaculate and had so many lovely personal touches. It was incredibly well stocked with every utensil we could possibly need. It was missing nothing. Coming home after a windy walk on the moors or visits to the nearby coast to the log fire was the highlight of every day.

Meadow Lea cottage is just a fantastic place to stay, Plenty of space in the garden for adults and children to enjoy with the added bonus of a Table tennis games room to while away the hours, Inside the cottage just gets better with everything you'll ever need for your holiday, If you have time you could even learn to play the piano !

! Highlight of the week for me was to sit outside in the sunshine having some breakfast thinking : It just doesn't get any better than this !!!

Amazing, from the cottage to the grounds couldn’t fault it at all.

Every thing was perfect within easy reach of shops and places to visit would love to go again. PERFECT.

A wonderful stay in a serene part of Cornwall, the house exceeded all our expectations and the garden was wonderful for our 5 year old to charge around in.

Stayed at meadow lea with my young family, cottage was very spacious and had all the desired facilities and was presented well.

The swings where a nice touch and my boys had lots of fun on them. Lots of outside space for them to run off some energy, (are some steep parts and some steep steps around the property so need to be alert if have a young children) enjoyed our time here and would recommend to friends and family.

The house catered for all our needs.

We were a party of young children, parents and grandparents. It had everything we needed. Children were able to play in the large garden. We were also able to relax outside in the sun and the privacy and the solitude suited us. The house is so comfortable and luxurious. We loved it.

The photos of the garden do not do it justice, it was so pretty.

The peace and quiet and just hearing birds singing, made this holiday very relaxing. Also, it’s location is ideal for visiting most places in Cornwall. We would highly recommend this house for couples and also families.

A lovely cottage in a great location.

Very clean and well equipped. Beautifully kept garden, our dog Charlie loved exploring in every nook and cranny. The weather wasn't too good but you just had to travel a little to get some sunshine. We enjoyed beach and countryside walks. St. Ives, Newquay, Plymouth, Bolster and Padstow to name but a few. Lovely place to Holiday. Thank you

For a week we lived the idyllic country dream at Meadow Lea.

The gentle baaing of sheep replaced our usual distant motorway hum. It is an immaculate and practical house which encourages relaxation and a great location for various English Heritage sites and trips to the coast. Two acres of garden and a boot room were ideal for our lively dog and no exaggeration – you really do walk out of the house onto the moors!

The cottage was really homely and beautiful, very spacious.
