“The cottage is located in a charming, quiet place, perfect for relaxation.”

The interiors are tidy, however, unfortunately, throughout our stay, an unpleasant musty smell was present, which was very annoying. Additionally, the outdoor seating on the porch was neglected and would require cleaning.

Thank you for your feedback. My housekeeper has not noticed any unpleasant smells. Do you mean the cushions or the rattan furniture? I am visiting this weekend and will check both… you obvs haven’t seen nor read that cushions are available for our outdoor furniture. Property Owner

“Bella vista was very clean and well equipped ,the site was lovely and quite when we stayed on the last week of June ,the only con we would have was that the shallet had a musky smell and felt quite damp in there whilst we stayed ,other than that it was a good stay .”

“My sister and I always go somewhere for a break together and always have a great time.”

Everything mostly was great, the only problem was we took swimming costumes with us to use the pool which apparently hasn't been there for years..the bath water was running cold so not sure what happened there, maybe should have tried running it when the heating was on. Accommodation was delightful, Everything you could ever want was there, even down to sandwich boxes to do a packed lunch. Very comfortable sofas and beds. Didn't have good weather when there but what a place to just chill in! We gave it a good clean before we departed so hope that was appreciated. Would definitely return.

Thank you for your positive feedback. Could you please tell me where you saw information about a swimming pool? When we bought the property 18 months ago, this information was removed from all advertising. For hot water in the bath, you need to put the immersion heater on. Instructions should be in the guest booklet, yet I will check to see if anyone has removed them. Property Owner

“No electricity on when arrived no instructions how to turn it on .”

A very bad musty smell patio door broken so couldn’t use ,UHT milk pods out of date and all lumpy . Smoke alarms going off at any attempt to cook no Coker hood or fan and can only use one shower at a time .Very old used looking Cooking equipment and poor WiFi Such a shame as lovely area of the country and very comfortable beds and sofa with some care and attention this property could be nice

Our apologies that the electricity wasn't on; it usually is. Instructions are in the guest booklet. The patio door was awaiting a part to fix it; again we apologise that you could not use it. It is now repaired. There is a fan in the kitchen area, which you failed to recognised. Most properties on the park have only 1 shower due to the water pressure in the area. We have the advantage of 2 , but "Yes" only 1 can be used at a time. The cooking equipment isn't old; it is 'used' and works perfectly well. It would be wasteful to replace it for a prettier/non-marked set. We use it ourselves. As I explained to you, fibre isn't connected on the site. A 4G router is installed, which will be replaced by a 5G router in the next few weeks. Property Owner

“Enjoyable stay, a few niggles; No electricity on arrival but soon sorted on locating switch and call back from the Owner was appreciated.”

Musty smell throughout lodge which we could not seem to eradicate despite having windows open as much as possible. Low water pressure in showers despite trying to adjust them. Great to have tea and coffee pods provided though no washing up liquid or even a couple of dishwasher tablets at all. Lodge well equipped as a whole and very clean. Comfortable outside seating for enjoying the lovely view. Excellent WiFi signal. The few disadvantages did not detract from us having an enjoyable stay. Recommended.

My housekeeper reported that there isn't a 'musty' smell, though I will investigate this personally. Thank you. The use of showers is explained in the welcome book. A welcome pack is provided, including dishwasher tablets and cleaning essentials. My apologies if these were not provided for your visit; they usually are. “Overall a very well equipped comfortable lodge.”

The open plan living room and kitchen are furnished really well with all you could need and more. Bedrooms are clean and bright, beds are a little soft and woke me in the night everything I moved it made a really loud noise, maybe it needs tightening up? Bathrooms basic but serve purpose. When we arrived all electric was iff luckily we found the switch board maybe a little warning to those booked in so they are aware when they arrive.

Kilkhampton is an historic Cornish village, 4 miles from the popular Victorian seaside resort of Bude, one of Cornwall’s premier holiday locations. With its old church, village shops and atmospheric village pubs, Kilkhampton is a lovely place to relax after a hard day exploring the stunning beaches and spectacular coastal scenery for which the area is famous. Bude’s beaches attract surfers from all over the country and when conditions are right you’d be hard pushed to find better surf. When the tide is out, miles of golden sand and hundreds of rock pools keep visitors occupied for hours. The South West Coast Path, and many other rights-of-way winding over the clifftops and through lush green fields looking out over the sea, make this area a haven for walkers and lovers of the open countryside. For those who prefer staying closer to home, a good shopping centre and a selection of pubs, two clubs and restaurants are on offer. Bude canal, a registered nature reserve, passes through the town, and rowing a boat along its calm waters or walking the towpath among the beautiful (and friendly) water fowl that live among the reeds is a great way to spend an hour or two.
