The Old Forge Cottage

This is our second visit, everything we needed was supplied in this excellent accommodation.

Lorna and Eric are excellent hosts and we enjoyed our visit. Sandemouth Bay a National Trust property that is dog friendly is very close by, this is an ideal base for exploring North Cornwall. The busy A39 was not an issue for us, there is good visibility in both directions when leaving the property.

We had a lovely holiday at the Old Forge Cottage.

The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. The kitchen was so warm and cosy being heated by the Range cooker. Lorna, the host, was so helpful and friendly. The cottage is well positioned in the area to visit all the beaches and amenities.

The owners are amazing and very friendly. Got to see the sheep, chickens and their friendly dog. The cake was delicious and such a wonderful gesture. Lots of places to see nearby which was very convenient. Would definitely recommend this cottage to others.

After a horrendous journey we were greeted with tea, coffee and a tin of the most delicious homemade cake. Our week's stay was made more enjoyable by learning how to cook with a range oven and an air fryer; also, the kitchen held just about any gadget or equipment that one could need. The property is conveniently situated for many of the attractions of North Devon and East Cornwall - we visited Sandymouth Beach, The Hidden Valley, The Big Sheep, The Milky Way and The North Devon Wake Park.

The owners are lovely couple friendly attentive happy to help .

The dog jinx was so friendly and always came to say hello. It was a nice place to stay and will be booking again in the future

A truly wonderful very much needed holiday.

This beautiful cottage in amazing surroundings has everything you need and more. We had a great time exploring Cornwall knowing we always had a lovley warm homely cottager to come back too. Eric and Lorna are the most loving, caring, warm and welcoming host's. Jinks the dog is a big playfully dog and always pleased to see you. This a definitely a place to come home too. We made mew friends in Eric and Lorna and will cherish our time with them and Cornwall for the rest of our lives Malcolm &Jo-ann x

We were a little concerned that we had booked a cottage bordering the busy A39 known as the Atlantic Highway, but the road is well shielded by trees and was not a problem.

The property is spacious and well maintained, everything we needed was there and it is situated close to dog friendly beaches. The owners Lorna, Eric and lovely dog Jinx live in the adjoining house, they were kind, helpful and considerate. The garden was lovely, with free roaming chickens and a duck, my well behaved labrador was pleased to see them. We hope to return again soon.

Lorna baked a nice cake for our arrival. The cottage was quirky never knowing which way to turn. Cooking on an aga was different but not hard. Fully fitted country style kitchen. We only stayed for one week so didn't feel the need for the washing machine or dishwasher provided. The only downside was the main A39 running passed. It gets busy during the day but reasonably quiet during the night. We slept well. We had the opportunity to walk the fields but unfortunately the weather wasn't very nice. Bude is just 10 minutes down the road with a big Morrisons and the village itself has a Coop and Spa and local pub serving good food. All in all we enjoyed our stay. Thanks again to Lorna and Eric, hope to see you again sometime.

A wonderful holiday break, just far enough away from Bude not to have the holiday traffic issues but close enough to jump into the van and head to the beaches with minimum effort.

Short drive into the small village for everything you might need from the CoOp which made this the ideal location for exploring everything the West coast has to offer. The house its self, while on a main road did not suffer with any noise issue from the road and the views from the conservatory across the fields were wonderful. Plenty of space to stretch out and rest in the garden and the owners were extremely helpful in all manner things including cake on the day of arrival and options to roam the fields they own and places to visit. Truly a wonderful little house, little quirky and fun getting to use the Arga system of cooking but got there in the end. Extremely clean and comfortable setting and with everything you need to have a great holiday from pots and pans to potato peeler and coffee pot. A great place for a family with kids who like to roam and run about both on the grounds but also the wider location with plenty to do come sun or even the rain knowing that you can come back and freshen up, chill with a hot chocolate or something stronger and rest. will happily revisit in the future, just need to sort dates out, well recommended the owners, house and location.

They provided nice touches with some basic provisions plus the freshest of eggs from their chickens and a yummy cake. It was fun trying to cook on an aga. The property was lovely and clean and had a beautiful garden to sit in. The only down side is the close proximity to the main A39 and could be a bit noisy sometimes. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
