Polly’s Bower is an excellent property in a standout tranquil location .

As soon as we arrived we knew had made the right choice for our annual weeks holiday in Cornwall. The owners have thought of everything in regards of equipment/ facilities with subtle nice touches all around the home.As a Sykes regular user we would have no hesitation in recommending this property. 10/10.

The enclosed garden is huge with amazing views and perfect for dogs. The pool is really nice and was a welcome relief from the heatwave.

Really enjoyed our stay.

It’s rare to find a place which is both luxury for the dog (two lawns and an orchard to snuffle in} and for the humans {dressing gown, nespresso machine, and lots of other lovely touches}. Wonderful view of rolling hills and watched sheep TV most mornings and evenings with coffee in hand. Lots to do around the area and especially enjoyed Portwinkle beaches and the Port Elliott estate, all an easy drive from Pollys Bower.

A beautiful cottage in an idyllic location.

The perfect base for us and our son to explore Cornwall! Brilliant facilities and some lovely extras thrown in! Hosts were welcoming and helpful throughout our stay and even though we were staying so close to them you would think you were completely on your own, very private and peaceful.

Stayed in this beautiful cottage for a week on a trip from Canada.

It is a lovely, peaceful location, and the owner is amazing. They have thought of everything to make your visit a good one, and we felt thoroughly spoiled.

Louise was very helpful delivering us wood when we needed it and very responsive. Great location to coast and countryside. Really enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend and return. Welcome baskets very generous addition for when we arrived. Thanks again and see you soon!

Our stay over christmas was exactly what we were looking for.

The cottage was beautiful, very well equipped with everything we needed to make christmas dinner and with such beautiful views down over the countryside. We will definitely be coming back!

We (and the dog) thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Polly's Bower.

The welcome hamper was very thoughtful, and having dog bowls, towels, and the outside dog poo bin was very helpful. It was very reassuring to stay somewhere that you can open the door, let the dog out and they can roam the garden freely without worrying about their escape. The accommodation itself was lovely and cosy. We were very lucky with the weather (especially for late October) and were able to have the doors open late afternoon watching the sun set over the hills. Plenty of dog walking around in the local areas which were suggested by the walking recommendation folder. The bath was a very generous size, especially for a generous sized lady, and ideal if you're not keen on a shower cubicle. There is a small fridge with a freezer compartment so we ate in most evenings. However we visited the Bullers Arms in Landrake and the meal was exceptional. Especially the chips! We will absolutely be returning in the future.

We had a delightful short stay in a well equipped, comfortable, clean, pretty and quiet Polly’s Bower.

Views over the wonderful countryside enhanced our few days; a joy to wake up to. Louise had thought of every little nice touch to enhance our experience; it was just a pity she could not control the weather. Polly’s Bower is a great base for visiting a variety of traditional villages, attractions, and coastal and moorland areas. A peaceful rural retreat but nevertheless close to local towns such as Exeter, Plymouth, Tavistock and Bodmin etc. All in all a ‘5 star’ experience which we would unhesitatingly re-visit and will recommend to friends and family. What a wonderful stay we had at Polly’s Bower!

The cottage is beautifully cosy, thoughtfully equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing break. From the moment we arrived, we felt warmly welcomed — the hamper with clotted cream, jam, scone and other delicious goodies was a lovely touch. Each morning we woke to stunning views over the apple orchards and rolling fields beyond, often accompanied by the graceful flight of barn swallows overhead. Evenings were just as special — the sunsets here are simply breathtaking. We loved the swimming pool — a real bonus — and found the bed to be extremely comfortable after days spent exploring. Polly’s Bower is perfectly located as a base for discovering both East Cornwall and West Devon, with charming towns, countryside walks, and the coast all within easy reach. We also appreciated the helpfulness of the hosts, who were always responsive to any queries, yet completely respectful of our privacy. And for those evenings when we didn’t feel like cooking, a couple of decent pubs are just over a mile away — a pleasant stroll if you’re up for it. All in all, a truly peaceful and memorable getaway. This property ticked all the boxes & more, so often little things disappoint you when you arrive at your destination, not here, Pollys Bower was everything it said it was, luxury cottage with breathtaking scenery, Louise & Mike the owners made us very welcome, we spent 9 fantastic days there & still didn’t want to go home, Honey our schnauzer wouldn’t get in the car when it was time for us to leave, what does that tell you ?

A gorgeous cottage, perfect location to reach places like Looe, Seaton and Plymouth etc.

Cottage is a perfect couples retreat. Lovely thoughtful hamper to start your break off, with local treats. Inside was spotless, everything looked fresh and smelt fresh and clean. Apple blossom in the orchard added to the spectacular views.

We had a lovely stay in a lovely cottage with beautiful views.

Some awesome little extras provided and being dog friendly was ace. We will definitely be back.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Polly’s Bower.

The house is beautifully appointed and the views are magnificent. Our dog had free roam of the garden and loved it too. Every amenity had been thought of. We’d love to return!

On the surface the cottage was as advertised.

But when we stepped inside to a cold cottage we were disappointed, that knowing our arrival time 4pm, the owners had not thought to put the electric heating on for us. To then read in book that we could NOT alter the heating settings, instead have to light the Wood burner to keep warm we were not happy . I have Asthma, so having had conversations with you about the Duck feather duvet, which you had resolved, did not want to light a fire. On the Sunday after 2 cold nights my husband contacted Louise and she allowed us to alter Heating times. The fact that both radiators were behind furniture, which we pulled out had not helped. Storage of our food was in 2 small baskets in the unit , not adequate. maybe a cupboard instead of a picture above would be better. The heated Towel rail wasn't on and we were told by Louise the switch was on the other side of the panel. These things could all have been written down somewhere. The travel instructions were inadequate and only applied if we had come over The Tamar Bridge, we hadn't.

Thoroughly enjoyed exploring the ‘forgotten corner’ of Cornwall.

We really appreciated the thoughtful extras with this property including the bath cushion, welcome pack, slippers and dog treats. The bedroom/bathroom suite is fantastic. We had a really restful break, thank you.

Beautiful cottage approached by narrow lanes in the heart of the peaceful countryside.

Our Labrador enjoyed playing in the big secure garden. Lots of outside seating in sun or shade. Very nice interior with comfortable sofa and bed. All the crockery and pots and pans you could need. We only ate out once - we used the nearby Waitrose and got some meal deals and cooked in the cottage - Glass of wine watching the wonderful sunset. Had a great week exploring the area. Our favourites were Looe and the Cheesewring walk. Only thing we weren’t keen on was (as others have mentioned) the lack of privacy in the bathroom. Other than that we highly recommend Pollys Bower.

Warm welcome even though we arrived later than expected,first though of property was WOW, views across the fields were amazing,location is great Information pack helpful ( rod &line pub well worth a visit) on the few times we saw the owners they always asked if we needed anything .

A bit more privacy when using the toilet would be a benefit. This a nice part of Cornwall we particularly enjoyed our visit to Cotehele.

The welcome hamper and afternoon tea was very much appreciated after a long drive.

We loved staying at Polly’s Bower.

It was clean, well equipped and comfortable, and in a beautiful spot. It is very well appointed with a really sympathetic renovation of an old barn and very nicely fitted out. Our cat settled really well, which is quite an achievement! Glorious views, with outside benches and table for when the weather allows, looking out over orchards and fields. Delicious Cornish cream tea provided for arrival, plus other local goodies, and a pint of milk. All you could want, and more, from a holiday cottage. The lovely Tamar Valley is on the doorstep, and easy access to north and south coasts. Tavistock is a really nice market town to explore, and Plymouth is nearby. National Trust Cotehele is really worth a visit. We would love to return. Thank you !

It is a beautiful space to spend time in and is situated really well to explore a gorgeous part of the country. More than that, the hosts really have thought of everything and the many small touches were the icing on an already lovely cake. The best thought through place we have ever stayed.

Polly’s Bower is a slice of Cornish heaven. The cottage is beautiful and the views are stunning. The location was perfect for exploring Cornwall. The hosts were really lovely and the little touches (such as a hamper of Cornish treats and home pressed apple juice) were thoughtful and made the trip even better. The pool was a real treat and easy to organise. Don’t hesitate to book Polly’s Bower for a beautiful Cornish base.

! The furnishings were so delightful and the sheets sumptuous, not mentioning the dressing gowns!! The view was to die for!!

Polly’s Bower is by far the best cottage we have ever stayed in!

Louise & Mike have thought of everything you could ever need while on holiday. The welcome basket & scones was a lovely touch as was the Prosecco chilling in the fridge when we arrived. The furnishings were lovely and everything was spotlessly clean. The cottage is set in a beautiful area with lots of stunning walks close by. The cherry on the cake was the heated swimming pool which we enjoyed almost daily…….even at the end of September! To sum up we could not recommend Polly’s Bower highly enough and it’s definitely 5* from us.

A beautiful cottage, in a stunning, peaceful location.

The views and your every need provided for in this superb, tastefully decorated property, with the added bonus of access to a swimming pool, creates a perfect holiday experience. We have just celebrated a special anniversary there and have come away, rested, recharged and with memories to treasure. Polly’s Bower is the best self-catering property we have stayed in - and we are fussy!

We both enjoyed our stay at Polly’s Bower and was a great base for us to unwind at the end of each day which we spent visiting various parts of Cornwall The property is as described and to be honest had everything we needed the house is well equipped with all possibles items you would need for your holiday.

We mentioned this in the guest book but would like to thank Louise for the welcome pack which was more than we have ever been given in any other previous stay anywhere in Britain.

Fantastic cottage, perfect for our dog due to the fully enclosed lawned garden. Owners very friendly and always very helpful. Would recommend this cottage very highly. Beautiful cottage in a quiet location.

It’s well equipped with some really special touches giving it a feel of luxury. The log burner made it cosy and warm and the kitchen had everything we needed. Mike and Louise were helpful and pleasant but left us to ourselves. We would highly recommend this property.

Sykes met my expectations but Louise at Polly's Bower exceeded them.

The little welcome touches were so unexpected but very welcome after a long journey (bad traffic). We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the accommodation was lovely and comfortable and Louise was super helpful. Her guides to the area gave us some great walks to do with great scenery. We have no doubts recommending this place!! We can't wait to come back!!

Polly's Bower is an excellent property and we would highly recommend it.

We had a great holiday helped by good weather. Could I suggest that the WiFi is improved, as this was the only thing that did not work very well. The instructions were to unplug and plug back in to get it to work.........you needed to do this numerous times a day !!

It was a lovely property with lots of little extras to make the holiday that bit more special.

The garden was a great size for our Labrador dog to run around and enjoy exploring.

We loved the place.

Super quiet and surround by vibrant nature, exactly what we needed. The hosts were very friendly and easy to engage with, while giving us more than enough privacy to enjoy our vacation. The place is gorgeous. I'm planning to go back at some point.

Polly’s Bower is set in a stunning location, only until you visit do you realise how beautiful it is!

The property is just as beautiful, with added special touches and treats. We visited with two dogs, who loved roaming the big garden and we found lots of great dog days out at the beaches, rivers and lakes nearby. This place is a must if you want the perfect country retreat!

This is a very special place.

Lots of thought has gone into making the cottage both beautiful and practical. We found the area really interesting too and had three exceptional meals out. Everything is provided for ease of home cooking as well. Having the pool is an added bonus. The hosts, Mike and Louise are most helpful, should you have any questions. Beautiful cottage, lovely views, quiet, very secure large garden (important for Molly the lively Springer). Many extras too numerous to list. Probably the best cottage we have stayed in for many years. We shall return.

Polly's Bower was perfect for the 2 of us plus the border collie.

Garden was much better than expecteed fully enclosed. The Host/Hostess made us very welcome & every facility was provided, even dog towels & wellington boots!

Pollys Bower is a wonderful place to stay!

We have been twice now and absolutely love it! It’s great for the dog with wonderful secure garden! The bath is dreamy and down to the little details like the bath tray for wine glass and iPad and the bath cushion! It makes for a very relaxing stay! The owners are fantastic and will do everything they can to make sure you have the best stay! Cannot recommend highly enough!

Only slight issue was the WiFi was a 4G dongle.

Which meant we were ill prepared on entertainment front (brought Apple TV to watch GoT etc). Louise was more than happy to add data though but we obviously didn’t want to waste her money. Place was stunning though, all the little touches were brilliant and we are still using the Cornish sea salt!

We had a wonderful week at Polly's Bower, the accommodation was superb and the welcoming touches were lovely.

Everything had been thought of to make our stay memorable. Our cocker spaniel loved the garden and the dog bed, toy and treats were also much appreciated by Coco! We would highly recommend a visit... We would be very happy to return!

Polly's Bower has a definite WOW factor.

On arrival this beautiful location was just what we needed for our relaxation. Polly's Bower is set in the most beautiful location, it is home from home so welcoming and comfortable would go so far to say luxurious. We had everything we needed to enable us to be self sufficient having taken all the produce we needed to enjoy for our weeks stay. The welcome of cream tea set out beautifully and other goodies to enjoy added the special touches that weren't expected but were delightful. Louise is a lovely person and has certainly put her stamp of luxury on this property. Highly recommended. The Rod and Line pub which is close by is amazing in the fact that they are so friendly and the pub is like stepping back in time the atmosphere and the food was lovely. Seaton which is approximately 15 minutes drive away has the most amazing beach and lovely country walks, we took a pic-nic and spent all day walking and marvelling at the scenery. Could not have found or been to a more beautiful, clean and comfortable place.

Very well equipped. Large amount of space for two people. Very quiet location and well placed for exploring south-east Cornwall.

Very impressed with pollys bower, location and views from front door were excellent, Louise has gone to great lengths to make it very welcoming and all the little extras were a bonus, we had a fantastic week.

After a 7 hour drive ( 5 hours longer because of a major accident on m5 ) we arrived at Pollys Bower , Keeping in contact with the owner , She was there to greet us , show us around and then we were left to explore .

Pollys bower was simply beautiful , stunning, and cosy . A lovely cream tea awaited us , chilled wine in the fridge , a hamper with a selection of local produce , even a dog bed treats and bowls . The photographs do not do Pollys bower justice , it's sheer luxury . Peaceful and quiet , stunning views of the local countryside . Everything you need is supplied from tea coffee and sugar and milk , to the toiletries , it's the little extras supplied that go a long way We would recommend this to anyone young or old Hubby has MS and the break did him wonders , just managed the stairs
