“We had a lovely stay at The Barn.”
Such a great location for visiting so many beautiful places in Cornwall.
The house itself had everything you could need for your stay and is very comfortable. It’s been decorated with love and there are lots of quirky home comforts and decorations which we loved. The open plan kitchen diner was great for us all to spend time together. We cooked plenty of meals in the well equipped kitchen. The open plan kitchen diner was great for us all to spend time together. We cooked plenty of meals in the well equipped kitchen. I was a little anxious about some of the reviews regarding parking and being in the way of the neighbors but needn’t have worried. There is a dedicated parking space directly opposite the barn which was ideal. It is a small courtyard which is shared with the other homes there but as long as you park sensibly there’s no problems, I have a Qashqai and didn’t have any issues parking.
We did struggle finding the property for a few minutes on arrival, but a tip is if you come towards the property down Roughtor Road into Tregoodwell, from the direction of the A39 into Camelford, once you get to a little crossroads with a post box in the wall ahead of you, turn left into Tyland Road and just on the left there is a small driveway which says for Cobbetts. Drive into the little courtyard and the house is there on the left.
We didn’t need to contact the hosts during our stay but on the day of arrival we received a text with the key box code. There is a huge information pack with lots of information for your stay and plenty of leaflets and info around the property of places to visit.
Camelford is a short walk away but is uphill on the way back to to property so keep this in mind for anyone with mobility issues. There is a lovely couple of walks in the village, a lovely little park, a pub, couple of shops and is well worth a stroll down to while away a lazy afternoon.
All in all a perfect base to explore the surrounding attractions and we would definitely visit again in the future. Definitely recommend a visit to The Barn, you won’t be disappointed. 5* from us.
