Anjoma

Overall we enjoyed our stay at Anjoma.

The house itself is lovely with everything you need available in the kitchen. Views lovely and only a short walk to the centre. Small gripes, outside area needs attention (needs cleaning, lights do not work and barbecue area scruffy). Inside, could not use TVs in bedrooms as could not get to work, could do with more space for clothes as is a struggle with 2 people in each room. Single beds slightly small for adults when beds separated. Parking a concern, what three words given took us to the road behind the house up a steep hill. Did not use. Windows gorgeous for views but in hot weather is like a greenhouse, could do with air conditioning. Having said all that, we would stay here again as the house is beautiful.

We had a lovely stay here.

The property itself is extremely well-equipped – it really has everything you could possibly need. Inside it’s spacious, comfortable, and perfect for the two of us and our dogs. Although it has four bedrooms, we enjoyed having the extra space. The kitchen was excellent – I cooked several meals and found every utensil I could want (and more). The only small disappointment indoors was the towels, which were on the small side – larger bath towels would be much better. Outside, the space could do with a little TLC and wasn’t particularly clean, though this didn’t matter much as the weather kept us indoors. The outside shower was a real bonus for cleaning up the dogs. The only awkward point was the recycling, which had to sit at the bottom of the steps all week. It wasn’t terrible, but it did make getting the dogs in and out a bit tricky. The main challenges were with location. Parking is not near the property and was difficult to find because of inaccurate directions. Also, there’s no pavement from the house to the car park or into town, and the road is busy with traffic. This made walking quite hazardous, especially in the rain or dark and with dogs in tow. Road noise was noticeable too, though as we didn’t use the outside space much it wasn’t a major issue. In summary, once you’re inside the house it’s pretty much perfect – comfortable, fully equipped, and ideal for a relaxing stay. Just be prepared for the busy road and lack of safe walking routes outside.

Anjoma is a gorgeous house that is very well equipped.

Although it is on a main road is was surprisingly quiet and we enjoyed relaxing on the sun deck, barbecuing and eating alfresco. There views from the property are stunning. There were 5 of us, all adults so the location was great as it’s a 10min walk to Looe town centre. We took 2 cars so used the parking space which is a few hundred yards up the road and left the other in Millpool carpark (£26 for the week) which is about 15min walk away. Looe itself is lovely, plenty to do and see.

The owner is an excellent host , responsive and helpful.

The property is really lovely and great for a family with young adults who like their own space . And Looe is a fabulous place for a holiday . Our only comment would be that the listing doesn’t clearly state how much traffic noise there is from all the rooms - particularly if you want to enjoy the view. The view is so serene and the noise really contrasts with it . It was not clear to us that the road was so busy and so up close ,nor that the walk involved 400 yards walking into traffic with no pavement This was fine for us but if we had young children would have possibly been very stressful . The outdoor area is also blighted by the road noise.

Overall Anjoma is a wonderful holiday property with stunning views.

Lovely attention to detail by the owners, who have made sure that everything you could possibly need is on hand. The bathrooms and toilets were mostly properly cleaned with a couple of small misses inc. around the kitchen sink. The laminate floors could have been cleaner and were left cleaner than we found them. Our main criticism is the bedding, which did not smell fresh and had some - prior to our stay - marks. One of our daughters pulled back the duvet on one of the twin beds to find long dark hairs (all our females are fair) which was really off putting, so she chose the other bed. A pillowcase was also missing on one bed and a towel. A couple of towels were stained prior to our visit too. The outside seating area had a few issues, but I’m not sure if the owners ask their cleaners to take care of this area. The parking space isn’t great, but we knew that. Also, off-loading and loading are a little tricky, but we managed. Overall, a lovely memorable stay for a special birthday. Thank you
