Lower West Curry Cottage

Yet another wonderful stay Lower West Curry Cottage, cream tea waiting for us on arrival with some lovely apple juice (as Monica and Ian know we don’t drink).

Lovely to see the piglets from the back garden every day and be able to say hello to the hedgehog that visited most nights. Perfect location as a base to travel around north Cornwall and Devon. Dogs most definitely welcome with a few treats left for them aswell. The cottage was spotlessly clean and well equipped for our stay. Will hopefully return next year.

I recently had my second visit to this amazing property.

It is situated in a very tranquil location with amazing views across the valley and is wonderfully comfortable and well equipped. Monica also offers home cooked meals to purchase plus fresh laid eggs! I very much look forward to returning next year.

If you like peace, pitch black nights when you turn out the light at night, a really comfy bed, and an uncluttered accommodation with the most stunning views, then this is for you.

If you like to hear ducks and geese in the morning, and pigs snuffling in the earth, then this is for you. If you like hosts that leave you fresh bread, a bottle of wine,scones, jam cream and can cook you a lovely home cooked meal, then this is for you. Very well equipped kitchen, lovely large bedroom. Good big towels. Hosts Ian and Monica went above and beyond to make our break a happy one. Wish we were still there

We had a lovely stay at the cottage.

Everything was exactly as described, and the place is actually even bigger in person than the photos suggest. When we arrived, it was sparkling clean, and Monica had thoughtfully left us a loaf of bread, milk, butter, coffee, tea, and two scones with clotted cream and jam - a really warm welcome. The garden is enclosed and has lovely views over the surrounding fields, which was perfect for our dog. The cottage has everything you could need for a short stay. We'd happily come back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable, well-equipped base in the area.

On arrival we found the cottage to be bigeer than it looked in the pictures and there was a fresh baked loaf, scones with jam abd clotted cream, butter, milk and a bottle of red wine all waiting for us!

We also made the most of the homemade meals and ordered a vegetable and a beef lasagne for our arrival and both were delicious

We had a very good week in a cosy cottage surrounded by entertainment in the form of the farm animals and an amazing variety of wild birds providing constant action.

The weather was not good but that did not matter too much as we were able to get out and enjoy the scenery and coastal walks and come back to a home from home. The provision of an EV charging point was very useful. Monica and Ian were great hosts always doing their best to make sure all was well. Monica’s welcome lasagne meal when we arrived was excellent and Ian’s tour of the farm animals was both enjoyable and very informative.

Lower West Curry Cottage is comfortable, clean and well equipped.

Monica and Ian are busy farmers but find time to welcome and chat to guests and the homemade food is delicious, ideal after a day of walking! The animals and birds are a delight to watch, while the view is far reaching. We used the bus service each day, just by the junction with B3254, which was very reliable and frequent.

... no footpath indicated for miles though if you look for dog walking routes ... but garden is perfect after long drives through beautiful landscapes even for the dog.

The cottage is so comfortable and well kept and it was great looking out on some splendid views. Thanks as well for the generous welcome foodie gifts. We thoroughly enjoyed the scones, bread and wine. We opted for a homemade meal from Monica’s meal selection on our first evening- it was delicious. The cottage is a wonderful and relaxing getaway.

Our second holiday at Lower West Curry Cottage.

As previously, great location, spotless and comfortable, lovely welcome pack, cream tea, red wine, fresh flowers. Again, Monica and Ian are great hosts. You must try some of their sausages and fresh eggs. Hopefully we will make it for a third visit in the not too distant future.

We had a lovely stay at Lower West Curry Cottage, it was easy to find with the instructions given before our arrival.

The property is on a working farm so upon our arrival we were greeted by lots of free range ducks which was lovely & we had pigs & sheep behind the back garden. The property was perfect for the 2 of us and our 2 dogs, it was clean, well equipped and the secure back garden was perfect for the dogs. The welcome pack of milk, homemade bread, butter, scones, jam & cream, wine, fresh flowers & dog treats was very much appreciated. The bed was a bit soft for us but that's personal preference and the addition of a bath and dressing table & stool in the bedroom to do hair/makeup would be brilliant if the owners want to consider improvements for future guests. Overall a lovely cosy cottage for 2 in the Cornish Countryside.

We enjoyed staying here again with our dogs, property was spotless on arrival with a fresh loaf of bread, butter, milk, coffee, tea, sugar and fresh scones with cream and jam awaiting us.

A perfect welcome and start to our week away. This is a beautiful and quiet location with sheep and pigs at the bottom of the garden and geese, ducks and chickens in the farm yard at the front. Under cover parking with a car charging point available (too share with other rental property). Would highly recommend this place as a base to explore the area as we did or just relax in the peace and quiet whilst listening to the farm animals. Hopeful we will return next year.

Cosy and very welcoming cottage.

Very nice welcome from Monica and Ian added extra treats for both dogs and us. Thank you Monica for showing me around the farm and the lovely home maked cooked meals. Would recommend all dogs owners. The cottage is located in a place to go out on all directions with a local dog field near by. Thank you again and see you soon

I cannot recommend this cottage highly enough if you are looking for a warm, very clean and comfortable place to stay in a very quiet, peaceful and beautiful setting.

The cottage is extremely well equipped and the owner leaves a cream tea for your arrival plus other necessities in the fridge - including a bottle of wine. Parking is under cover and right next to the cottage. The view from the living room is amazing and far reaching and from the kitchen / diner you can watch the resident ducks relaxing in the farmyard. I very much look forward to visiting again soon - both my dogs and myself were very sorry to leave.

Lovely cottage.

Very clean, modern and most of all, peaceful. Rams and pigs at the edge of the garden and a kingfisher visiting the bird-feeder every morning. Close enough for local amenities and plenty of beaches nearby.

Ssssshhhh - I don't really want to post a review because the word will get out about West Curry Cottage and we want to keep it a secret .

.. BUT IT'S A GEM!! Monica and Ian are the most perfect hosts. Very welcoming and friendly, and always on hand if needed. Monica greeted us upon arrival and we very quickly felt at home in our little cottage. After having a nosy around the cottage and secure garden for the dog), we were astonished at the welcome treats that had been left by Monica for all of us! The thoughtfulness was truly appreciated - especially after a long road trip. The Cottage was spit, spot clean. The bed soooooo comfy. There was everything you would need for self catering from kitchen to laundry to lounge which had board games and TV entertainment. Monica does offer to cook home made meals and pop them over to you if you pre-warn her (totally going to do this next time we visit - they sound delicious)!! The views are amazing, and if you're a keen bird spotter - don't forget you binoculars! The silence is awesome at night and the bats are everywhere. The pigs at the bottom of the cottage garden are relaxing to watch, snuffling and grunting around, and I was also lucky enough to bump into Ian early one morning on the way back from walking my dog. He and Monica had been up all night with their Sow, birthing piglets, which I was ushered (along with my dog) to go to the stables and see. The wee little ones were only 12 hours old, but I was eagerly welcomed to see them and was given a little bundle of cuteness to hold!! I could go on and on, but I won't. Give it a go for yourselves and see what you think. :0) xx

Issues finding the property, no visible signs, I had to call the owner for directions.

When I got there the outside of the building is nothing like the photos on Sykes website, outside desperate for a coat of paint. Clean inside the cottage and it was the amazing view that I decided to stay.

Nothing was too much trouble, the cottage was a fab home away from home. It's a great place to stay, owned by a genuinely lovely couple. Can't wait to go back.

Our stay was very peaceful and comfortable, surrounded by beautiful scenery stretching for miles and the sheep munching the grass near the fence of the well kept enclosed garden which was perfect for our elderly dachshund.

The property was clean, well equipped and our fabulous hosts Monica and Ian are so welcoming and helpful, it was sad we had to leave. Not only a memorable 50th Birthday but also a 28 year anniversary. Thank you.

They were friendly and welcoming. The cottage was immaculately clean, tastefully furnished and delightful throughout with all facilities provided for in every room. A real ‘escape from it all’ holiday and a great location to explore Cornwall. Tranquil setting. Wonderful views and brilliant for bird watching. I had a lovely peaceful time and my only regret was when it was time to leave. I met Monica and Ian as genuine hosts and we parted as friends. Very friendly owners, cottage had a good range of kitchen items to support you during your stay and the gifts on arrival were very well received!

Garden well enclosed and gave us the space the dogs needed. Only recommendation for improvement would be bed was a bit lumpy, felt like you were rolling off it.

It gave us a lovely welcoming feeling.it was also very clean and well equipped. And for our dog it was well very well enclosed keeping her safe. And the hosts was exceptionally good didn’t bother us but was there if we needed anything. We would certainly go back again

Always a lovely stay in the cottage.

Perfectly set up, spacious and cosy. It provides a great base for exploring the surrounding area and then returning to relax watching the birds and the pigs. The meals provided were a real treat.

Remote and quiet on a small working farm but close enough to lots of places to visit. 7kw car charger was incredibly convenient as we have an all electric car and much cheaper than charging on public chargers. Garden secure and great for the dogs and views incredible. Was lovely to see such an array of birds on the feeder in the garden including woodpeckers and Jay's. Can highly recommend Monica's food and again made for lovely cosy evenings without having to worry about going out. Was also lovely to be shown around the farm and get to cuddle lambs and piglets. Cottage was spotless and had everything we wanted. So lovely to find a dog friendly cottage that is so lovely with hosts that respect privacy but are also there whenever you need them. Would highly recommend and hope to be back!

The cottage was clean, cosy and well equipped. We were touched upon arrival to find our lovely hosts had left milk, homemade bread, wine and also a cream tea for us, which was very much appreciated. The cottage was located within easy driving distance of beaches and other attractions. A fantastic find, we will definitely return!

Lovely place for a bit of peace and quite. Clean and tidy. Outside area a lovely place to sit in the sun. Secure area for the dogs. Friendly and welcoming owners nothing is to much trouble.

So spacious and cosy all at the same time. The farm is a lovely base from which to explore all of Cornwall and Ian and Monica were amazing hosts. We and our two dogs had an amazing stay and would wholeheartedly recommend the cottage or the farm house (we stayed there last year) to anyone.

The cottage was amazing with absolutely everything you could need for your stay.

It was spotlessly clean and the all the furniture was very comfortable. The garden was fully enclosed with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside.it was so lovely to see the pigs & sheep from the garden. Monica & Ian are fantastic hostes who went over and ubove to insure we had a brilliant holiday. The welcome pack was such a lovely touch. The directions given when you get your key collection information are spot on. Obviously it is a working farm in a rural location so is lovely and peaceful. But it's only around 15 minutes drive from the beautiful beaches and town of Bude, or around 10 minutes drive to Launceston where there are several large supermarkets and local amenities. The cottage is very central to Cornwall/Devon so is an ideal place to stay if you like to travel around sightseeing. We will definitely be booking again. As when we arrived we arrive as guests and when we left we felt like friends.

Monica and Ian are friendly and helpful hosts. Greeted with bread, milk, wine and the ingredients for cream tea. Delicious! Really comfortable and very well equipped cottage. Fantastic views at the back whilst you enjoy a morning coffee or a relaxing evening drink. Sheep, pigs and geese in the fields. Can highly recommend the eggs and sausages available from the farm. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again if we find ourselves in this area in the future.

Great holiday and cottage is exactly as described in a lovely peaceful setting but close by to beaches and other attractions.

Provisions kindly left so we had no need to shop straightaway which was a nice touch.

Ian and Monica made us feel extremely welcome, the little extras such as a drink and a cream tea were a lovely touch.

Ian gave us a tour of the farm and his passion for keeping the breeds was lovely to hear. We took our 2 Springer Spaniels which were safe in the back garden with us.

This was our first stay at West Curry Cottage and we are sure it won't be our last.

Lovely cottage, spacious and has everything you need for a comfortable stay.

The owners are lovely and super helpful. Arriving to find a home made Cornish cream tea was a delight - and blooming delicious. Ideal location for a quiet retreat, we particularly enjoyed the pigs lounging around which you can see from the garden, and the variety of birds that visited the bird feeder which can be enjoyed from the cottage or sitting in the garden. Highly recommend a visit if you enjoy animals and nature.

What a lovely cottage - bigger and better equipped than any other one cottage I’ve ever stayed at.

Spotlessly clean and very comfortable. Loved waking up and enjoying a cup of tea with the pigs! Monica and Ian are incredible hosts and the scones were delicious!!

A good sized cottage for two people (and 2 large dogs we had with us).

The photos don’t do it enough justice I think, it’s much nicer! The kitchen and dining space is one large room (dual aspect) with plenty of room for dog beds. The living room has an amazing view from the patio doors, onto a small but perfectly sized fenced in lawn, to the countryside beyond. Ideal for those with dogs. All stone flooring downstairs, with the large downstairs toilet/utility room perfect for drying wet dog towels, and the installed stair gate was great. Situated down a very quiet country lane (for brief dog walks) and other walks only a few minutes drive away. Black Rock/Widemouth Bay beaches were also great to visit, even in the Winter! Although we stayed there during a rather wet and windy winter the cottage was lovely and warm with a comfy sofa and fast wifi so all good! Plus was lovely to see the farm animals, a couple of sheep right out the back when we were there, as well as ducks, geese and chickens having a wander around from time to time.

Monica and Ian are very friendly and helpful people. I ordered a cooked meal (beef lasagne) which was delicious and came with a side salad. In addition Monica had left me .Scones,clotted cream ,strawberry jam,a loaf,milk ,butter and a bottle of wine.Superb. I will be back.

Great little break in lovely cottage.

I would not recommend that anyone take their pets to this cottage!

I took my baby cockatiel - she miraculously escaped her locked cage, and through the closed windows and locked door! The owners wife entered the cottage whilst we were out, without consent.

Yet again another wonderful holiday at this cottage, clean with everything you need.

Lovely location with very friendly owners. Great base for exploring North Cornwall and Devon.

We loved everything about Lower West Curry Farm - the cottage was wonderful , clean and had everything you need (including a very sensitive smoke alarm!

) . The garden was fabulous with views for miles as well as some of the farm animals - two adorable sheep, Boris the pig and 2 sows. Monica and Ian made us feel very welcome and brought round one of the piglets born only recently - there is a nice homely feel about this place. The nearest pub The Stumble Inn is about 1.5 miles and along the main road and serves food Wed/Thu/Fri/Sat evenings and Sunday lunchtimes - the food and drink is excellent. The beach at Widemouth bay is only 20 minutes away and the south beach allows dogs all year round.

Just can’t praise our hosts enough from the cream tea milk fresh bread and fresh eggs upon arrival not to mention dog treats.

The cottage is in the most stunning setting with outstanding views, and very spacious inside with everything you need.I was privileged to be given a guided tour up close and personal with the rare breed farm animals absolutely loved it. Can highly recommend a stay here hopefully we will be able to return once again many thanks to our hosts

This is our second time staying.

Lovely situated cottage, peaceful and relaxing, exceptionally clean and comfortable with a beautiful view from the garden. This is a great location for exploring both Cornwall and Devon. The additional little touches left of the bread, cream tea, butter, milk, wine were so thoughtful and appreciated. Ian and Monica are lovely and always on call if you need them. We will definitely be booking again soon.

Such a peaceful and welcoming cottage, lovely and clean.

The kitchen was well equipped with everything you need. Bed really comfortable with high quality linen, towels also high quality. The views were fantastic from the back garden, lovely place to sit and watch the birds on the feeders, Jay, Woodpecker and various others we also really enjoyed seeing the animals in the adjoining fields. Ian and Monica were lovely people, always on hand but not intrusive. The homemade scones and gluten free bread along with the other goodies was a very thoughtful and delicious treat on our arrival. The cottage is an ideal base to explore Cornwall and parts of Devon. Bude, Clovelly, Tintagel, Launceston Castle and steam train, Bodmin steam train and jail along with various National Trust and English Heritage properties. We will definitely be back. Thank you Ian and Monica (and Colin) for a lovely stay we thoroughly enjoyed it.

This is an excellent place to stay the only criticism I have is your facility lists the Stumble Inn to be a mile away this is nowhere correct and with a main road with no footpaths this is not somewhere that people can walk to.

Lovely property with everything one could need including dishwasher, washing machine (even tumble dryer).

Very comfortable king size bed. Owners always available for help if needed and very friendly. Well placed for visiting dog friendly sites and beaches. Particularly recommend Black Rock Cafe/Beach west of Bude.

We had a lovely stay in the cottage with our dogs.

The location was beautiful and the farm noises and sights were a welcome surprise! We found the bed very comfy and roomy contrary to some other reviews and liked the spacious bathroom. One thing we’d like to mention is the garden and dog situation. Unfortunately nowhere in the holiday description did it mention that our outdoor garden area connects to another one next door. Although fenced this fence is only 4 foot ish tall and the dogs can easily stick their noses through the gaps in the fence as it isn’t solid and can put paws up on top of the fence to become face to face. In fact our neighbours dogs jumped the fence into our garden to then get through to the sheep field on the other side and chase sheep on one occasion! The other thing to mention is the other side of our garden was directly next to a field/ pen with sheep in. This wasn’t an issue for our dogs as they’re well trained and didn’t pay much attention to the sheep but some dogs (like the ones the other side of us) struggled with this as again our dogs could have literally put their noses through the fence and sniffed/ touched the sheep the other side. For a reactive dog or even dog selective this could be a stressful garden situation. We had 3 dogs with us and next door had 5! We had to be very aware whenever next doors dogs were out as 2 of ours didn’t like the fact next doors could jump up on the fence to look into our garden so we couldn’t have them out at the same time. It just depends how you feel your dogs would cope. It didn’t ruin the stay but we had to be careful each time and it wasn’t as relaxing as it could have been just sitting out in the garden admiring the lovely views. I wanted to mention this as it doesn’t seem to in the holiday description. Overall a lovely time away and we’d likely go back.

Lovely quiet location, with a fantastic view from the garden, very friendly and welcoming.

Everything you needed and more for us and our 3 dogs. Good location, only issue we had, was the step stairs with our old dog. Other than that we would thoughley recommend it.

A lovely break away over Easter, which was made even more special thanks to Ian & Monica's warmth and hospitality!

Everything has been thought of to make the cottage a 'home from home'. Highly recommend to couples (and their dogs!), looking for a relaxing break. The views from the garden do not disappoint (even with the pigs in your eyeline!) and the house itself is very cosy. We were greeted with home made scones, with cream and jam, a pint of milk, bread, butter and a bottle of wine which was a lovely welcome. Being on a working farm, we were surrounded by animals, which was a nice change to the hustle & bustle of town! Really do recommend, and would not hesitate to come back with family and friends again in the near future. A few recommendations of what we fit in over our 3 nights - 2 different beaches, Bude & Widemouth (by car), Tamar Lakes (by car, highly recommend if you are looking for up to 2 hours of walking, followed by a cream tea at the café on site), and walked to the 'Stumble Inn' for a Sunday Roast (approximately 40 minutes road walking).

Warm welcome with lots of settle you in provisions including the Cream Tea ( Cornwall style ! ) . The cottage was clean and cosy and had everything we needed. The view over farm lands was scenic and relaxing. Definitely recommend this relaxing retreat with Launceston and Bude not far away.

We had a great relaxing stay at the lower west curry cottage the location was peaceful and the scenery was stunning and it's in a great location to visit Cornwall and Devon.

The cottage was clean and very comfortable it was also well stocked and the enclosed garden was great for our dog Mollie. Ian and Monica were very welcoming and helpful and made sure we were comfortable and happy during our stay.

Lovely warm comfortable cottage at the end of a no through road and 2 farm gates.

So, very peaceful and secluded with lovely views over open country. Our only intruders were greater spotted woodpeckers at the bird feeders on our secure fenced garden. On arrival we found a nice bottle of wine, bread, milk and a cream tea had been left for us, very thoughtful so thanks Monica and Ian .

Beautiful cottage and amazing scenery.

Very well equipped however, the mattress is very uncomfortable. Also, a few rugs would make it much warmer. Pretty cold when heating is off. Brilliant for sockets,however, there is nowhere to put your phone, laptop fir charging.

We had a lovely 3 days and would highly recommend it.

Plenty of room for us and our German Shepard who enjoyed the garden. Monica and Ian could not have been more helpful. Prefect spot for getting around Cornwall.you have to try the sausages.

The only thing for me was the mattress was far to sofa for me ,But some people love that . So u can’t please everyone. Butter , milk, cakes. Plus a bottle of wine for us when we got there. The dogs loved it , amazing even had a gate on the stairs to stop the dogs going up . Garden fenced off . Very quiet ,great views. LOVE IT , LOVE IT

A very high quality property, spacious and comfortable, in a delightful setting.

Very helpful owners and the "welcome package" was....very welcome!(fresh bread and scones: mmmmmm...!) Only regret is that we didn't book it for 2 weeks rather than just the one. Only criticism, and it really is minor, is that a knife sharpener would be handy in the kitchen.

We had a lovely time at the cottage and it is located on their farm, Widemouth bay was only 7 miles away and the Tilley loved it!

..this cottage is an amazing place to relax or explore the surrounding beaches, towns and woods. The welcome gifts they left for us we're amazing. Monica cooked for us on our night of arrival and the cottage pie was amazing. We have already booked for next year, our third visit here and as long as we can we will be returning year after year. Would highly recommend this little gem of a cottage.

The owners on site are very welcoming and friendly, Widemouth bay was only 7 miles away and a really quick drive, we went there both days and the dogs loved it! The views from the cottage are beautiful and the garden is a complete sun trap! Loved our last minute stay, thank you Ian and Monica

Everything supplied for the duration of our stay. The fully enclosed garden has fantastic unobstructed views for miles across the Cornish countryside. Ian & Monica were very welcoming, providing fresh flowers, home made bread, scones, wine, etc on arrival. We will definitely be returning next year

This is one of the best holiday cottages we have stayed in.

Communication with the owners was great and they were very welcoming. You can have as much or as little interaction with the owners (and farm animals on request!) as you like and watching the ducks and geese waddle round the yard out of the window was an added bonus! The kitchen was exceptionally well equipped and the decor and furnishings were great. The bed was super comfy and the bedding was hotel quality. The attention to detail was superb, with wine, daffodils on the table, eggs from the farm, butter, milk, bread, cream tea, dog treats etc. So thoughtful of the owners, thank you so much, it was very much much appreciated. Really hope to return.

Lower west curry cottage was everything we wanted and more.

Comfortable and cosy you relax the moment you walk in the door. Views were lovely and miss them already. We will definitely be back. Thanks Monica and Ian.

The cottage was very clean and well appointed.

You could almost have eaten off the floor. The owners were so very kind and helpful when we had a problem which was fixed very quickly. On arrival we were met by Ian and made to feel very welcome. There was a loaf of homemade bread, homemade scones, jam and cream and all the makings of a cream tea plus some eggs, a vase of flowers and a bottle of wine. We have never been so well treated. The view from the patio was absolutely delightful. The garden as enclosed so that our 3 dogs could run free and stay safely close by. Ian took me round the farm to meet the animals which was lovely. we can't thank them enough. We will certainly be going back there in the none too distant future hopefully.

only had one fault would of been nice to have a solid fence between the adjoining property just because we all had dogs which tended to bark alot when they saw eachother ..other than that it was a lovely place to stay .and Monica and Ian were lovely ..and left us lots of goodies wine scones cream eggs milk and some gorgeous bread

Excellent communication before arrival with the offer of a home prepared meal when we arrived.

On arrival Monica and Ian were their to well come us and had left home made bread, butter, milk, tea coffee and all the ingredients for a cream tea (cream then jam). The cottage was spotlessly clean!! and well equipped. Lovely views of the country side from the dog friendly fenced garden. Beware this is a farm and has pigs, sheep, cows, ducks and chickens so expect associated noises and smells! We look forward to hopefully returning next year!.

On arrival Monica and Ian had provided us with wine, scones, milk, eggs and fresh flowers.

Cottage was perfect.

Comfortable and very spacious. It has everything we needed. Fresh baked bread, scones, eggs, milk and wine left for our arrival. Perfect location for travelling to different places. Would definitely recommend

Truly dog safe and friendly which was the main thing for us.

Very Spacious for two. Working farm so early farm noises of course. We messed up finding it but it is easy. Just take B3254 from Launceston and watch for road sign on right for West Curry telling you to turn left. Follow this road as far as it will go even through two steel farm gates.

Another great stay!

This was our second visit and it was just as wonderful as the first time! Couldn't recommend it enough.

We understand that there are two cottages that can be linked for bigger groups of guests however we felt very uncomfortable using the garden as we could and where being watched by next door.

Also the adjoining door needs some sound proofing as we could hear every conversation from next door and could hear them on several occasions attempting to open the adjoining door.

We had a great week at Lower West Curry cottage.

It's in a peaceful, beautiful area. Just a 20 minute drive to Widemouth Bay. The cottage was very clean and comfortable and the owners have thought of everything you could need to enjoy your stay.

Cottage was lovely, warm and very comfortable.

The owners have made it very suitable to have dogs stay as well.

The owners, Ian & Monica were very friendly and welcoming with a nice welcome pack including a bottle of wine, cream tea, home made Loaf, eggs and butter.

The property was well equipped to a high standard and ideally located allowing you to explore most areas of Devon and Cornwall Would definitely recommend

I cannot fault the high spec of West Curry Cottage, the proprietors had taken so much trouble to ensure the comfort, cleanliness and well equipped facility.

The additional little touches left of bread, cream tea, butter, milk, wine were so thoughtful and appreciated. However, when booking I knew it was semi detached, what I didn't know about was the connecting door between the cottage and the farmhouse which had no sound proofing what so ever and we could here everything. Saturday and Sunday was slightly quieter because the family were in the garden. Following Monday nights noise we decided we were not prepared to put up with further evenings like that and decided to leave on Tuesday evening thereby cutting our holiday short by two nights. I will admit to not complaining to the owners about Monday evening as I don't really see what they could have done to avoid repeat incidents. I would strongly suggest that the issue with the connecting door is fully included within the cottage spec so anyone booking in our circumstances will be fully aware that there is no sound proofing between the two properties connecting door.

Stunning cottage and owners(on site) couldn’t do enough.

Goodies left for us, including a Christmas tree and crackers and treats for the dogs. Very comfy and loads of room for 2 people. Spotlessly clean throughout and everything there that one could hope for. Highly recommended.

Just returned from a week in the Cottage, what a fabulous find, really comfy ,excellent facilities, loved every minute.

The only bit of feedback I have ,is the fence which divides the 2 properties to be a solid fence (the rest is fine, just the one down the middle) as if the neighbours have dogs and you do it can create a bit of a problem should either dogs not like other dogs etc. Other than that, the garden is fab with a lovely view and ample size for dogs (we had 3 spaniels) thanks for a fab stay.

Once again a lovely stay in the cottage.

Its great to find somewhere that can cater for muliplue dogs, truly wonderful.

We had a fabulous time, such a lovely cottage, more spacious than we expected for a one bedroom property. Very clean and well equipped. The utility room such a bonus, roomy kitchen diner and very comfortable bed, felt like home from home. Fantastic views over the countryside from the enclosed garden. The owners were very welcoming, it was great to see round the farm, hold piglets and feed the calves. Looking forward to a return visit!

We love this cottage.

It is bigger than we expected from the photographs. very well equipped, loads of lovely towels for bathing and very comfortable. The views from the kitchen window is fantastic on a clear day. unfortunately for us the weather was not too kind lots of rain but when the sun shone it was beautiful. It was lovely to hear the geese and ducks chattering in the morning. Because of the weather we were not able to go round the farm but we did see the pigs roaming at the bottom of our garden. A lovely relaxing place and Monica was charming a lovely lady very busy but always willing to chat. I would recommend this cottage and we would love to go again.

The cottage was in a great location to explore both Devon and Cornwall.

It was spotless and the fixtures and fittings were high end. Monica and Ian give such a warm welcome, and the welcome pack was gratefully received too! It’s a busy working farm, and they took time out to introduce us to their farm animals - the baby piglets and calves were adorable. We definitely recommend this cottage.

What we loved about our holiday was the location and the area for our dogs who enjoyed their first holiday away with us.

And particularly Ian and Monica who were the most amazing people we got to know for the week we were there, and also for the journey we had when we arrived and had those little touches and we are going to spread the word to our family and friends about were we stay and especially amongst the military community in which I live.

This was our third visit to Lower West Curry Cottage and it feels like home from home and never disappoints.

Monica and Ian have created a very special place full of peace and tranquility, where you can sit on the patio and listen to the sounds of the farm and the chirrup of circling buzzards overhead. It is also a good place from which to explore; either the moors of Bodmin and Dartmoor, or the north coast of Cornwall and Devon. All are within an easy drive. To sum up, Lower West Curry Cottage is a Cornish gem!

We would also like to congratulate MONICA and IAN on how spotlessly clean the cottage was, it was one of the best cottages we have had to date, there was also biscuits, bowls and a towel for toby our dog to use. we would definitely recommend this property.

This place is just lovely, and very well renovated.

The owners have clearly put a lot of thought into everything in the cottage, a very comfortable mattress, nice sized shower cubicle, the kitchen has everything you need, nice new comfortable sofa and chair in the sitting room and a decent sized TV for watching a film after dinner. If I had to add one or two criticisms, it would be the adjoining door between this cottage and the larger family one next door, if you have a noisy family in the cottage next door (and unfortunately we did) it can get quite noisy whilst sat in the sitting room. Also the fence in the garden could be a little more secure, we were a little unsure if we should let our dog in the garden whilst off her lead, it would be very easy for them to get under the fence and in with the sheep, possibly finding a way to secure the bottom of the fence so the dogs can’t get in with the livestock would be good... but having said that it was better than a lot of cottages we have stayed in that claim to have a “secure garden”. The bread, milk, eggs and scones were a lovely touch. The views from the garden is just stunning. This is a great location for exploring both Devon and Cornwall. We would definitely recommend staying here and we will be booking to come back again!

We had a lovely stay in this very clean, comfortable and well equipped cottage, Ian and Monica are lovely and always on call if you need them without being intrusive.

We had some lovely home made bread and scones waiting for us on arrival and a bottle of wine, also our dog Bailey enjoyed his treats too. We had a tour around the farm aswell seeing all the animals which was nice. Cottage is in a good location for getting out and about, definitely go back.

On arrival at the Cottage we were met by Monica and Ian, we were shown to our Cottage.

Once inside we found they had left us lots of goodies, a fresh home made loaf of bread, and real butter, milk, home made scones, jam and clotted cream in the fridge. Fresh eggs from their Hens, a bottle of red wine and flowers on the table. Tea, coffee and sugar was included. There was even a lovely lit Christmas Tree. The Cottage was very comfortable and had just about everything you would wish for, there was a washing machine and tumble dryer, dishwasher, even bowls for the dog and towels for the dog and treats. The views from the Kitchen window and the lounge were beautiful and it is so peaceful there. There is also a fenced off area for the dog. I would recommend the Cottage to everyone and we will definately go back again at some time, Ian and Monica are lovely people and work very hard not only on the Farm but also looking after Guests and the Cottage was clean and spotless. Monica had asked us before we arrived if we would like them to cook us a Christmas Dinner and they brought it too us freshly cooked and on plates wrapped in foil, it was delicious. Unfortunately we did not get to have a look around the Farm as the weather was not so good, we did meet the Farm Dogs and the little 14 week old Black Labrador was so cute and we could not believe how well trained he was at that age, we have a 6 month old Golden Retriever and she is still work in progress!

Meeting Ian and Monica was a pleasure.

They exceeded all expations. We were really pleased with the cottage, the location and the peace and quite.Nothing was to much trouble for them you only had to ask. Meeting all the animals with Ian and the way him and Monica spoke about them you could see not only was it a business for them but they really cared about them all. The Cottage is ideal for a person with multiple dogs to go on holiday to.

The accommodation is easily maintained and comfortable. I had a great time and the dogs enjoyed their stay too.

So welcoming on arrival and the house exceeded my expectations

The cottage was fantastic, a very welcoming and relaxing break.

Ian and Monica were welcoming and lovely. They offered to show us around the farm to meet all the animals, we were able to have a nosey at a dozen, day old piglets and young ducklings. The cottage also has fantastic views of the Cornish countryside and the farm is situated a short drive from a couple of local towns, tourist attractions and the A30; this made getting to places like Trebah Gardens, St Austell very easy.

Lovely people, lovely setting, lovely animals.

What more could we wish for?

As we were the first visitors in the cottage it was all bright spanking new and squeaky clean which was great.

This did however result in a couple of very minor issues which were promptly rectified by Ian with his magic screwdriver. We found both Ian and Monica really helpful, enthusiastic and genuinely keen to get feedback but without being pushy. Monica's welcome pack of home produce went down a treat, as did the complimentary bottle of wine. We think that the layout of the cottage and adjacent farmhouse (also for let) with an adjoining door would be great for larger groups, we never heard a squeak out of our neighbours on our stay, and the view over to the northern hills of Bodmin Moor were something to admire, especially with snow on them. Seven miles from Launceston deep in the Cornish countryside the area is so peaceful and relaxing. We would go back again without hesitation. We wish Monica and Ian much success with their new venture. Jill & John G
