The Location

Not everyone can enjoy such spectacular views as Caroline Lamb the cottage owner. The view is not all this property has to offer. Set in a small fishing village on the south Cornwall coast, Kerbentetty is in the heart of Portloe with a small local pub nearby, offering a traditional village feel.

The History

When on holiday in Portloe, Caroline’s Granny walked along the coast path and spotted Kerbenetty. Instantly falling in love, she contacted the owner and insisted that if they were to ever sell the property, she would buy it. In 1958, she became the proud owner of the beautiful home, which remains in the family to this day.

In 2000, Caroline purchased the brown barn behind the house. This expansion allowed them to offer an extra room, parking and a safer entrance to the property for the guests.

Since Joining Cornish Cottage Holidays

After letting the cottage to friends and family for many years, Caroline decided to start letting the property in 2010 on a full-time basis with Cornish Cottage Holidays. While letting her cottage, Caroline has some challenges to overcome. During the floods of 2010, the property was severely damaged by 5ft of flood water, Caroline had to completely redecorate. Not allowing this to deter her, she continued to let her property and it has become one of the most popular in the Cornish Cottage Holidays portfolio.
