Ron “Cracking property, good location.”
The comprehensive manual could do with a slight update (I guess Cornish Cottages don't exist anymore) and there seems to be an instruction manual for the hob missing. Overall a lovely cottage in a great location.
- Ron, September 2023Amy “Loved our stay at Pound Rocks, great location and a well looked after house and gardens.”
Tintagel has beautiful walks and the properties minutes from town. Really is a little gem, we will return :-)
- Amy, August 2023Joanne “Lovely home from home.”
Everything you could possibly need was provided including a very welcome bottle of wine! Very comfortable, spacious and clean. The garden was lovely and had shady spots. Perfect location, close to the village but still quiet and private. Would highly recommend. We will definitely be booking it again.
- Joanne, June 2023Judi “Only a minor niggle not a lot of storage space in kitchen cupboards.”
Ice maker a brilliant bit of kit.cleanest property I have stopped in.
- Judi, June 2023Christine “Great location lovely bungalow everything you could need Comfy bef”
- Christine, June 2023George “Lovely bungalow in a great location just a minutes walk from Tintagel’s shops & pubs.”
The property is quite large and has plenty of space for 5 persons. It is comfortable and well equipped. Outside, the gardens are very safe and secure for dogs (and humans!). Easy travel distance to local towns such as Bude, Padstow & Mevagissey. Delighted with our stay.
- George, May 2023Beryl “Enjoyed our stay at pound rocks.”
Found small gap in hedge which could be a problem for people with dogs. Tintagel has excellent eating places. We hope to return to pound rocks next year. Recommended.
- Beryl, April 2023Christopher “Very comfortable and convenient location to explore North Cornwall.”
All on one level so was great for guests with mobility problems.
- Christopher, April 2023Brian “Very well presented bungalow, newly decorated with modern fully fitted kitchen and bathroom.”
Also a good enclosed garden. Good location with off street parking and a short walk from shops, pubs and restaurants.
- Brian, March 2023Janet “We’ve stayed here before.”
It’s a spacious, comfortable bungalow and situated a 2 minute walk into Tintagel. The wood burner is a lovely extra detail to enjoy on a cold evening and I enjoyed using the conservatory. It needs a few extra wine glasses though. There were only 2 available- fine for us, but not if the bungalow was fully let.
- Janet, March 2023Matthew “We had a great stay at Pound Rocks recently.”
The bungalow was ideally located just back from Tintagel high street but very peaceful. All was very clean, tidy and as described. Good size drive for off road parking, secure garden for our dog and the property was ideal for a relaxing break and for exploring the delights of north Cornwall. The only very minor comment I would make is that a second television in the kitchen or main bedroom would have been appreciated as there were 3 adults in our party with different tastes and we tended to stay in on the evening after a busy day's sightseeing. All in all though, a great property and thoroughly recommended.
- Matthew, October 2022Paula “Really enjoyed our stay.”
The property was clean and well equipped with lovely furnishings and finishing touches. Excellent location for the sights and coastal paths of Tintagel and a drive away from lots of beaches (Polzeath, Trebarwith & Daymer) and other locations such as Boscastle and Port Isaac. A walk up to St Materiana's Church / Glebe Cliff, Tintagel is worth it to watch the sunset. The only way the stay could have been improved for us would be access to an outdoor tap to wash down wetsuits and a better airer to hang them on. Also, WIFI was a little weak at times. Despite that it is an excellent location and lovely property and would definitely recommend.
- Paula, August 2022Debbie “We had a lovely time at this property.”
It is deceptively modern and comfortable inside and with quite a few extras (the ice maker was great in the current heatwave!). The garden was a great for sitting and chilling as was the conservatory at the back. All the shops and pubs are on the doorstep and so ideal for popping out for a quick bite.
- Debbie, August 2022Victoria “Absolutely loved our stay in this cottage.”
Amenities were plush, clean and plenty of space for our family. Especially close to the village so those interested in walking to dinner, to the cliff side, etc, I would highly recommend this location.
- Victoria, June 2022Alison “Great house in perfect location.”
Everything we needed to enjoy our holiday.
- Alison, June 2022Sheridanne “We had a very enjoyable stay in May.”
It was clean, comfortable, light and airy. The bathroom was modern with a really spacious shower and comfortable bath, the beds were lovely and the sitting room was also comfortable. The sun room was also nice. The kitchen was well equiped and spacious, but there was no cupboard space for food as they were all full of crockery and utensils and having the fridge out in the garage and having to go out the front door to access it was awkward. We go self caterering so we can cook all our meals so having space for food and an easily accessible freezer is, for us, essential for a two week holiday and we had to use the top of the 'decorative' aga and the window sills. Apart from this and maybe a bench or table and chairs to sit in the evening sunshine in the garden it was a delightful place to stay.
- Sheridanne, May 2022Jennifer “Second time at pound rocks, everything was excellent as before its such a lovely bungalow with a safe garden for mu little dog just one little thing the toilet seat in the loo is very lose and someone might slip if a child or elderly but easily fixed I would say, loved our week there again though.”
Lots to see and do.
- Jennifer, May 2022Lesley “The house is perfectly placed in Tintagel.”
We had a lovely stay and if we were going back to Tintagel we would definitely try to stay at pound Rocks again. High quality kitchen and well equipped the house also has a lovely bathroom. Comfy beds and good bed linen. Enclosed garden which was great for our dog.
- Lesley, April 2022Leslie “A very comfortable property in a good location.”
The large enclosed garden was great for our dog. Most equipment was provided but a drainer for crockery is badly needed.
- Leslie, March 2022B “Absolutely beautifully renovated cottage, walking distance to high st, had ...”
Absolutely beautifully renovated cottage, walking distance to high st, had everything you could need, greatest shower hubby ever had, great weather for march, hubby had lovely birthday week, would book again, and doggy loved it too, thankyou, the wrights, march 2022
- B, March 2022Paula “Photos of outside need changing or outside of property needs painting, very tired.”
Certain cleaning aspects need addressing, such as cobwebs in conservatory above loo and base of tap stand for bath, although tricky could both be much better. Would also suggest getting rid of the carpets, all are stained and tired and not particularly hygienic, especially considering the high level of linens/fittings throughout. Having dealt with the cons, we would definately book this cottage again as location and attention to fixtures, fittings and linens is very good and we loved the garden for the dog. Would recommend to others.
- Paula, February 2022Thank you for providing your valuable feedback following your stay at Pound Rocks. We are pleased to hear that you would love to visit again. We have spoken with the management company regarding the points you raised and we have been advised that new carpets are being fitted in April. The cleaning points have been addressed with the housekeeper and a conversation will be had with the owner regarding the exterior decoration. Property Owner
Trudi “What a great cottage in a perfect location.”
Easy access to the Coastal Path and all the amenities of Tintagel. Fully equipped and very comfortable - pretty much everything we needed was there. Cottage is warm - we did not need to light the fire. Conservatory is a great place to chill out and read after a good walk. Would recommend as a great place to stay.
- Trudi, December 2021Sandra “Just returned from a week at Pound Rocks.”
What a super place to stay, just around the corner from the main street but quiet and private. Spacious and a great mix of traditional and modern. Modern where it is really appreciated (Kitchen and bathroom) with traditional features such as the hallway tiles and doorknobs adding character and charm. Very well equipped, with everything you would need to cook and clear up with too. We ate out quite a lot but it was nice to know everything was there if we wanted to cook. Also do read the information book, the instructions for every appliance are there, along with quite a few guides to local attractions. The water in the shower was hot, could have done with being just a little cooler but couldn't work out how to achieve that but great to have the option of a very deep bath or a shower. The garden is charming and is bigger than the photo's suggest, the rear garden is completely escape proof so the dog can have a run around while you stay dry in the conservatory. Sadly the weather was a little cool to get the most out of the conservatory but I would imagine it's great in warmer months. The only thing we had difficulty with was the sofa. Stylish and comfortable but a little low. The first time I sat on it I sank into the comfort but was like an overturned beetle getting back up - my husband rescued me otherwise I might still have been there. The beds are very comfortable and good quality bed linen and towels are included. A few thoughtful extra's were found and enjoyed. I wouldn't hesitate to return to Pound Rocks and would strongly recommend this accommodation to all.
- Sandra, October 2021Paul “Bungalow was beautiful and was left a lovely welcome pack which was thoroughly enjoyed”
- Paul, September 2021Alan “We made 3 phone calls re the internet issue.”
It was the 3rd call that the lady was very helpful and gave us a reference number and rectified the issue. By then it was the end of the holiday. The internet signal needs to be stronger. The actual bungalow is very nice and comfortable. And excellent location in Tintagel. Needs to be kept update but you can tell the owners have quality taste. The bathroom is of a very high finish.
- Alan, August 2021Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback. \We are sorry to hear there was disruption caused by the internet. Unfortunately, we cannot and do not guarantee the strength and speed of the WiFi. However, I am glad to hear of the other positive points that you have raised. We hope you enjoyed your stay. Deborah “We were very pleased with the accommodation, it was exactly as the photos.”
Comfortable and very clean. Well equipped kitchen and thoughtful welcome pack. We would stay again.
- Deborah, July 2021Jo-anne “We had a lovely holiday in Tintagel.”
The bungalow is in a great position for the small town. Would benefit from some painting inside and out. No washing line which was challenging for a family of 5 with wet suits etc. Also no BBQ. Both would be an easy fix. Used the washer-dryer a couple of times but took hours and it all came out smelling funny so rewashed once home. Was all very clean and has great potential.
- Jo-anne, July 2021Elizabeth “Lovely comfortable accommodation.”
Pretty garden and furnishings. Beautiful town with cliff top walks, blue lagoon and friendly restaurants....we went to Vega and Olive Branch. Thank you.
- Elizabeth, July 2021Ros “An absolutely loverly place to stay and so well equipped and a loverly sheltered ...”
An absolutely loverly place to stay and so well equipped and a loverly sheltered garden would go there again and do well situated for visiting all the attractions in tintagel
- Ros, July 2021Timothy “The cottage is lovely.”
The cleanliness was fantastic. The owner supplied , not only a welcome pack but everything you could want for in your own home. Beds and pillows were top quality. The location was excellent, being just a 2 minute walk from the high street. If i was to be at all critical i think the walls would benefit from a coat of paint. But this should not put you off booking,
- Timothy, May 2021Karen “Have stayed at pounds rock before its very comfy has everything we need and perfect location in Tintagel.”
The bungalow is well equipped clean and cosy The internet was not great but think thats Cornwall in general. At the moment with covid restrictions lots of the usual places in Tintagel were not open it was sad to see the place so quite. But this didn't spoil our time here. We will be back to pounds Rock for a third visit in the future.
- Karen, April 2021Amanda “Pound Rocks was a perfect holiday home for us, we loved it!”
Comfortable, contemporary, clean and in a great location. The promotional photos are accurate, what they don’t show is that the property also retains some of the original features of the place, which give it additional charm! I had read that there was an issue with the WiFi and the heating but these had clearly been resolved - both the WiFi and heating were excellent.
- Amanda, October 2020Deborah “We had such a lovely week at Pound Rocks.”
The location was brilliant, great for exploring the local area. The accommodation was clean, fresh and well appointed. We would definitely stay at Pound Rocks again.
- Deborah, October 2020Kathy “Great location in the centre of Tintagel and useful information about local walks and places to eat in the visitor book.”
Very comfortable and nicely decorated bungalow. Only problems - maintenance is not kept up with (lots of lights out), central heating did not come on and it was very cold several nights we were there and finally there was no Wifi and very poor mobile connectivity which we found a huge drawback.
- Kathy, September 2020Julian “Ideal location for exploring Tintagel with everything you need on your doorstep and as a base for exploring Cornwall.”
Traditional cottage that has had a sympathetic modernisation with all the facilities you would expect and plenty of space, including off road parking. We really enjoyed our stay in the cottage and had a great holiday.
- Julian, August 2020Tina “A lovely bungalow, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay .”
The middle bedroom smelt of damp and bedding and clothes in this room were all slightly damp even with the window open all day and night .
- Tina, August 2020Laura “We really enjoyed our stay at Pound Rocks and appreciated the bottle of Sav Blanc that was waiting for us on arrival.”
The property was immaculately clean, well presented, comfortable and ideal for my elderly mother due to being on one level and having a beautiful bathroom with large accessible shower. The garden, which wraps around the bungalow, enjoys the sun late into the evening and is secure for dogs. The property is well placed in Tintagel as it is literally around the corner from the high street, so very convenient for eating out and picking up groceries. The National Post Office and Tintagel Castle are also within easy walking distance. Overall, a lovely stay and we would highly recommend the cottage, Tintagel and the surrounding area.
- Laura, July 2020Richard “A great cottage, well equipped, warm and cozy.”
Situated in the ideal position to explore the coastal path with plenty of local walks and rugged scenery. Very close to the village, with shops and pubs nearby. There is some construction work being carried out on the land at the back of the property, on week days, but this did not affect us too much as we were out most days.
- Richard, March 2020John “Cottage clean and kitchen well equipped bathroom good with excellent shower.”
Everything worked as it should all instruction manuals present.Pity about the damp problem in the second double bedroom which could not be used a few damp patch in various other places. The outer front door difficult to lock.Like the original doors inside needs some attention to the handles.
- John, September 2019Linda “Great location in the heart of the village, nice original features as well as modern conveniences would recommend”
- Linda, August 2019Lesley “The property was covered in mould, had dirty covers, the kettle was disgustingly dirty inside and not fit for purpose, lack of basic equipment in the kitchen, chipped cups, insufficient mugs and a ripped old chair.”
We had to purchase our own basic equipment. The bins were half full on arrival and a man was in the house when we arrived. We sent a letter of complaint which was met with the response we hadn’t looked in the cupboards. However we had looked in every cupboard before we went out and bought a chopping board, sharp knife, potato masher, glasses, cups and a kettle. Not good at all and total lack of customer service. Certainly not worth the money we paid
- Lesley, July 2019Keith “Comfortable, roomy property in a great situation.”
- Keith, July 2019Jennifer “Pound Rocks is a fabulous holiday home ,everthing anyone could ask for will definitely be booking again”
- Jennifer, May 2019Louise “This place was lovely, felt at home as soon as we got there.”
Location was great, will definitely be returning
- Louise, May 2019Sue “Good position being in the centre of Tintagel where there are plenty of pubs and shops.”
Great walks along the coast and fabulous views. Pound Rocks a great place to stay.
- Sue, March 2019Phill “Stayed in Tintagel for the first time and this property was the perfect location for the 3 of us to spend a wet and windy Dec weekend Everything is well presented and of a high spec.”
I hate to use the term ’deceptively spacious’ but it just is. Comfortable, warm and only a few feet from the town centre. Would happily recommend, and we will definitely be back. Definitely check out the ‘Olde Malthouse’ if you are looking for a lovely pub with fantastic beer, food and service.
- Phill, November 2018Eileen “Pound Rocks is a spacious, modern and clean holiday home.”
Lovely to have the heating on all the time especially in November and wet days (So many other holiday homes seem to restrict this). The garden was also neat and tidy. Couldn't be closer to all of Tintagel and other places of interest such as Padstow and Port Isaac. Definitely recommend.
- Eileen, November 2018Gillian Stella “Very clean and comfortable,to a high standard”
