Located in south east Cornwall on the Rame Peninsula, Kingsand is a largely unspoilt fishing village that has retained a huge amount of character and charm. If you want to discover traditional Cornwall and avoid the usual tourist traps then a cottage in Kingsand will be ideal.

Why stay in Kingsand?

Kingsand is renowned for its smuggling and fishing heritage. You will struggle to find much evidence of smuggling activities as the tunnels have long been sealed up but there are many old fish cellars and boat stores to be seen along the coast. 

There are three beaches in Kingsand and nearby Cawsand for you to choose from as well as several shops and pubs. The Black Prince procession takes place every year on May Day. A model boat passes through Kingsand finishing at Cawsand beach where it is floated out to sea to bid farewell to the winter and welcome the summer.

Places to visit near Kingsand

The Rame Peninsula provides amazing opportunities for walking and wildlife spotting. An Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, visitors can walk the South West Coast Path, spend the day at Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park or try surfing at one of several beautiful beaches.

It's a beautiful location to visit for a winter short break too. The glistening coastal setting in the low winter sun shows another side to Kingsand not seen in peak season.
