This small town is located close to St Austell, on the edge of the former china clay site. The town was dominated by the mining industry, historically copper and tin and more recently clay. The church in the town is dedicated to St Blaise, the patron saint of wool combers. 

A mile away is the Eden Project. Built on the site of a giant mining quarry, the centre has welcomed over 20 million visitors since it opened. It is dominated by huge biomes, housing thousands of different species of plants.

Venture south to the coast to find the picturesque shores of Readymoney Cove, a small bay sheltered by luscious cliffs, not far from Fowey.
