“I stayed here last year and there were a few issues that I took up with Sykes Cottages who promised these issues would be sorted So I thought ok I will book again this year, given them a second chance.”

Well nothing has changed unfortunately this is why I am writing this. The place is damp and smells very musky so not good for someone who has chest problems or asthma The sofa is very old and uncomfortable, it needs replacing The mattress is filthy, absolutely filthy and you don't see it until you strip the bed after your stay, yes you do have to strip the bed These things I complained about from my last stay so was hoping these would of been addressed but clearly not There is a electric ...

Well nothing has changed unfortunately this is why I am writing this. The place is damp and smells very musky so not good for someone who has chest problems or asthma The sofa is very old and uncomfortable, it needs replacing The mattress is filthy, absolutely filthy and you don't see it until you strip the bed after your stay, yes you do have to strip the bed These things I complained about from my last stay so was hoping these would of been addressed but clearly not There is a electric dehumidifier and some small water ones behind the TV and under the bed it's so damp. Electric meter on show, we turned it off as I don't want reminding of how much electricity I've used. Out door furniture needs a clean Good points, 5 mins walk to the beach, back gate leads to the pathway around the coast, 4 mins to the station to catch train to St Ives at £2 return Unkept garden to sit in at night to listen to the waves Lovely friendly dog Yogi next door a delight to see each morning Own parking for one car Not wheel chair friendly due to the steps down to the house Nice hot shower, no shower plug or USB port. Fluffy towels were welcomed, new cooker, tea, coffee & pint of milk in the fridge, washing machine works fine but no where to dry only towel rail in bathroom It's a shame they haven't sorted the damp issue and changed the mattress as it's gross!!

About the location

ST IVES

Penzance 6 miles.

One of Cornwall's prettiest harbour towns, St Ives offers narrow streets, tight-packed cottages nestling around the quayside, the Tate Gallery and Barbara Hepworth museum, fabulous beaches, superb shops, a thriving community of artists, great pubs and restaurants and much more. With its semi Bohemian lifestyle and romantic air, it's easy to see why this is the county's premier holiday resort. The surrounding area has much for the visitor to see and do with abundant wildlife, fabulous coastal walks, top quality surfing and the Celtic mysteries of the Land's End Peninsula are all within easy reach. A superb destination!
