The pretty village of Mevagissey is located at the beginning (or end) of the Cornish Riviera, a picturesque stretch of coast that leads to the hinterland of the Tamar. Browse our range of Mevagissey holiday cottages and experience this wonderful village for yourself.
Why a Mevagissey cottage?
The historic village has been around since at least 1313 and was named after two Irish saints; St Meva and St Issey. During the 1800's Mevagissey was the centre of Cornwall’s pilchard fishing industry. The trade has since declined but the harbour is still a working one.
The village is nestled in a small valley, steep sides and narrow lanes leading to the old village centre. Venturing from your Mevagissey cottage, you will find a selection of places to eat and shop. Many of which encircle the harbour or are tucked away down traditional narrow streets.
