Callington is a small ancient market town in south east Cornwall. This charming town is close to Bodmin Moor and the Tamar Valley, making it an excellent location for exploring Cornwall’s scenery and wildlife.

Why book a cottage in Callington?

The centre of the town is a conservation area and boasts some beautiful nineteenth century architecture, including St Mary’s parish church. The town has a busy events calendar, including its main event, Callington Festival Week held each July. The Town Hall also holds a Country Market on every second and fourth Friday of the month.

Callington is famous for its Honey Fair and Mural Trail. The Mural Trail, which depicts life in the town both past and present, has been painted by professional artists and local schoolchildren. The Honey Fair takes place annually on the first Wednesday in October and is one of the largest street fairs in Cornwall.

Places to visit near Callington

Callington is not far from the Tamar Valley – an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – and Kit Hill Country Park is just outside the town. Kit Hill is an ideal place for picnics and walks, and offers some wonderful views across to Bodmin Moor. The National Trust property, Cotehele, is just south east of the town.
