The Camel Trail is one of Cornwall’s most popular walking and cycling routes, ideal for all ages. Take a look at our selections of accommodation near the Camel Trail and find your next active holiday.

The Camel Trail is a 17-mile track that leads along the River Camel and its Estuary. It is suitable for walkers, runners, cyclists and horse-riders, as well as pushchairs and wheel chair users; the Camel Trail is open for everybody. If you didn’t bring you own bike, not to worry, as there are lots of places that offer bike hire. 

The trail is largely traffic free, surfaced and virtually level so you can focus on your surroundings without the worry of harsh terrain or disturbing noises.

Starting at the seaside town of Padstow and running to Wenford Bridge, via Wadebridge and Bodmin, the trial passes through the wooded countryside of the upper Camel Valley and alongside the charming Camel Estuary. From Wadebridge to Poley’s bridge, the route passes through some magnificent forestry areas, managed by the local commission. Skirt the edge of Bodmin, home to Bodmin Moor, a beautiful granite landscape with bogs, tors and streams.

Stop for refreshments or why not stay a little longer and dig into some grub at one of the many pubs along the way.
