A Christmas break allows you the opportunity to peruse Padstow without the crowds. This picture-perfect harbour town is a dream to explore in winter, with an array of cosy restaurants and local boutiques, as well as harbour lights throughout the festive period.
St Ives is widely known as one of the best places to visit in Cornwall, but at Christmas it takes on a whole new character. There are plenty of independent and artisan shops for Christmas shopping, lots of art galleries to enjoy, and some of Cornwall’s best beaches for a bracing winter walk.

One of Cornwall’s most popular Christmas destinations, Mousehole attracts visitors every winter for its famous harbour lights. These have been organised by volunteers for over 60 years, and do a great job of making this already beautiful fishing village a magical sight at Christmas. Mousehole also makes a great base for a festive break, with independent shops, a generally quaint atmosphere and the stunning West Cornwall coast on your doorstep. If you’re visiting in winter, we recommend nearby Lands End for some dramatic storm watching on the edge of the earth.

This tastefully converted barn is perched in the small hamlet of Trethurgy, with views of the Cornish Riviera coastline. Roughtor Barn is a stylish detached house in Poldue, near Camelford. You can truly relax here, with an open plan living space, a log burner and a smart TV for Christmas movies. Tintagel and Polzeath are both nearby, as well as some stunning coastal paths for a Boxing Day walk to remember.
