Nearby Kingsand used to be in a separate county, but today the two villages are almost one place. Be sure to take a stroll around this equally picturesque village. The beautiful Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park is an imposing 16th century manor house with beautiful grounds to explore and is only a short drive away. There are all kinds of things to do here, including segway tours around the grounds for those who need to rest their legs!
Along the south coast to the huge expanse of Whitsand Bay you will find what are, arguably, the most impressive beaches in all of Cornwall. The imposing Tregantle Fort is still in use by the military for training, so be aware that access to some areas are restricted at certain times. Dogs are allowed all year round at Whitsand Bay, so it’s great for long walks.
Keep heading along the coast and you’ll come to Seaton where you’ll find a beautiful beach and the Seaton Valley Countryside Park, with a Green Flag nature reserve that is home to otters, kingfishers and rare butterflies.
