Located 4 miles south of Truro, nestled alongside the Carnon River, is the picturesque village of Devoran. It is named after the Cornish word for water, ‘Dowr’.

The village was purposefully built as a small port for the export of copper and tin and import of mining materials. The Redruth and Chester railway, long since unused, served many of the mines along this route. The disused railway now forms part of a coastal path and cycle route.

Places to visit near Devoran

Head to Truro to see the cathedral, wander around the high street and boutique shops, or grab something to eat and drink in one of the many great pubs and restaurants. Penryn is to the south, home to the spectacular Enys Gardens. Adventure enthusiasts can spend a fun filled day at Kernow Adventure Park, an outdoor activity centre.
