Why a Port Isaac Cottage?

The picturesque village of Port Isaac is now easily recognisable from BBC's Poldark, or as the village of Portwen from TV series Doc Martin. It is over 700 years old, featuring a web of narrow, winding streets lined with pretty, whitewashed cottages that meander down to the traditional working harbour. Port Isaac was, until the mid-nineteenth century, a very busy port, handling goods such as stone, coal and timber. Since then, it has been used as a fishing port.

Stunning views of the harbour can be enjoyed whilst walking along the cliff top, whilst the harbour itself provides the perfect spot to relax and while away the hours. The local choir performs a modest open-air concert in the harbour every Friday evening during the summer, and the delightful harbour side pubs offer a friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
