Why accommodation in Rock?
A very popular location among the wealthy and professional, and even visited by the likes of Prince William and Harry, the town of Rock is often referred to as the ‘Chelsea-on-sea’, accommodating many luxury villas and designer pads.
Despite its name, Rock’s beach is a long stretch of golden sand that looks across the estuary towards Padstow. It holds a deserved reputation as an upmarket destination and is popular with both families and sailing enthusiasts. There’s an abundance of water sports to choose from – windsurfing canoeing, water-skiing and rowing. Due to its sheltered position however, Rock Beach is not great for surfing. If you do want to ride the waves then Polzeath Beach is just a short drive away, home to award-winning surfing conditions.
Our range of Rock cottages have access to an exquisite range of restaurants including Michelin-starred venues and sea-food experiences, catering for all tastes. The village boasts a number of smart delis and upmarket shops, giving you a chance to treat yourself.
Places to visit near Rock
Further North from Polzeath is the quaint fishing village of Port Isaac. Cycle the famous Camel Trail or take a boat trip from the harbour. Slightly inland is Wadebridge, once famous for its production of wool. Visit the Sir John Betjamen centre and discover all about the life of the former Poet Laureate.
